MINTY’S 10 WAYS TO STAY ACTIVE & MOTIVATED FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY!

MINTY’S 10 WAYS TO STAY ACTIVE & MOTIVATED FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY!

Together, we will get through this tough time!

As we learn to adapt to a new “normal”, Minty wanted to share her insight with families as to ways to stay active, motivated and challenged while at home over the coming weeks and months.

So here goes…

1) REMOTE LEARNING

Number One on our list has to be the Mintridge
Foundation remote learning programme. The concept is simple; our team of Ambassadors – Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20
sports, both team and individual will assist young people of all ages,
abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence, skills, resilience and the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through a safeguarded environment. Delivered via technology such as Skype, FitSwarm and Playwaze, this will build a lasting legacy for your young people.

There is a small cost to this, please contact Alex Wallace should you wish to find out more and hear more of the incredible feedback that
we have received like this:

“OTHING WORTH ACHIEVING COMES EASY! It is amazing
to seefirst-hand the challenges that athletes go through which I have witnessed overthe last six months. The remote mentoring has really helped my fitness and health.”

Nekoda Davis's Silver Mentee, May 2018

“As a mum of one of these mentees, I can’t than you
enough for the opportunity. Pamela Cookey has already had such an impact on her self-confidence, determination and overall wellbeing.”

Parent, Silver Programme, February 2020

2) FIT4CHANGE

Why don’t you use the Fit4Change
app? This is a great motivator to help keep active even just in and around the house while
lots of activities have been cancelled. Simply:

a)       Select your
charity from the opening screen list (we would love for you to select “The Mintridge Foundation” wink wink).

b)      Select your activity and away you go. For every mile that you walk, run, cycle or move indoors, your charity will receive 5p.

EVERY PENNY COUNTS and it is a great way to
challenge your family and friends during this time.

3) MINTY’S ACTIVE CHALLENGE

Alongside our nutrition partners Nibble Protein, we have
developed #MintysActive Challenge to try with all of the family. Don’t hesitate and download it straight away, get that scoreboard stuck on your fridge so you can monitor everyone’s progress and track your performance of not only maintaining activity but also eating healthily! If you submit your scores, there are great prizes up for grabs too!

use the different items. Minty is a big Crazy Catch fan and enjoyed playing with it and the Mintridge Ambassadors at Christmas!

10) MOODBEAM

The Moodbeam One allows you to log how you feel at the push of a button. Knowing how you're feeling at any one time can be powerful, especially when set against the anxiety of COVID 19. The simple act of pressing a button, which is visualised through the Moodbeam App, provides deeper insight into what’s going on in the mind of the wearer, be it you or someone you care about who has chosen to share how they’re feeling with you.

We think purchasing a Moodbeam, which is the first
wearable device that logs how we feel, will help you and your family through this difficult time and it will be a great starting points for bigger
discussions. If you use the code, FIVEMINT5, you will get 5% off too!

We hope that this helps everyone, please contact us if you have any questions or would like some guidance!

Take Care, Minty

The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity dedicated
to enhancing life skills in young people through sport. We provide a support network for young people by harnessing the power of positive sporting role models. The Mintridge Foundation assists young people of all ages, abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence and resilience, and creates
awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through sport.

Our team of Ambassadors  - Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports, both team and individual - work with young people in schools, clubs and academies across the UK. Starting with visits including assemblies, coaching clinics and classroom sessions tailored to each
organisation’s requirements, our ambassadors can then provide one- on- one remote mentoring in a safeguarded environment, delivered via technology such as Skype and Playwaze to build a lasting legacy for individuals.

The Mintridge Foundation’s successes demonstrate the incredible power of sport; from a mentee’s selection to represent Great Britain in their chosen field to enabling disabled children to find confidence and happiness just through participation. Understanding life after sport, we also support our Ambassadors
in their transition from active sport to the next stage of their careers.
