Mintridge Foundation Mentoring Programme - Ambassador Information - Georgie & Rebecca

You are now a Mintridge Mentor!

Welcome to your Mintridge Mentoring Programme!

Everything you need for your mentoring programme is right here on this page. You can access all of your mentoring documents via the links below and we encourage you to take some time to look through everything on this page so you can understand more about the information your mentee/s will also receive.

This programme has been funded by the Max Hunter Fund. The fund was created to keep our much-loved friend’s fun, caring and sporting memory alive as well as changing perceptions and challenging stereotypes in the process. We will deliver mentoring programmes across the UK focussing on Max’s favourite sports and encouraging a new dialogue around how to look after our mental health just as we do our physical in sports clubs and agricultural colleges across the UK.

Max Hunter died by suicide in August 2019, aged 28. Suicide and mental health continue to be incredibly difficult topics to talk about, particularly for young people and that is why we are determined to change that narrative. To learn more about the Fund, please click here.

What we need you to do…

  • Find a regular slot (if possible) in your diary every fortnight that we can use for you to call with your mentee/s.

  • Join your Playwaze community so you can communicate with your mentee through this platform and organise your calls, send updates and share good news stories.

  • Try to create a safe and inviting space for your mentees to talk to you during your mentoring calls by asking them questions about themselves and using the mentoring resources in the pack that you can access on this webpage.

  • Feedback to the Mintridge team after every call to let us know how it went, what progress your mentee is making and any concerns you might have.

  • If you have any problems accessing your calls, or have any questions for your mentee, please use your Playwaze community to communicate with them.

Contact Katie or Alex if you have any questions about this.

As a mentor, it is important that you follow our Mintridge safeguarding policy at all times.

Some of the key points to note for this programme are:

  • You cannot communicate with your mentee through any form of private messaging, including through social media.

  • Mintridge should always be involved in any communications you have with your mentee and we will set up the mentoring calls for you so they cannot have access to your contact details and you cannot see theirs.

  • There must always be another adult in the background of your calls with the mentee to safeguard you and the mentee.

If you have any questions at all during your mentoring programme, you can contact the Mintridge team at anytime.

We hope you enjoy this brilliant mentoring programme and we look forward to getting you started on this journey to inspire the next generation!
