We love Marilyn (Okoro), she was so inspiring and such a beautiful person. Our girls are in awe of her. Everyone is still buzzing. You are a truly special organisation and we have loved working with you.
Head of PE, William Edwards School, December 2024
It was great to meet Georgia (Darlow), we loved her presentation! A very inspiring journey, which will really help our students with their transitions through sporting and academic life.
Head of Strength and Conditioning, Athletics and Cross Country, King’s Ely School, December 2024
Thank you for an amazing day. My daughter had such a fab day and is still talking about it. She is fairly quite naturally but was very animated and shouting and so engaged during the match!
Parent, Gold Programme, November 2024
My daughter has been buzzing since she got back, thank you such an amazing and special experience for them.
Parent, Gold Programme, November 2024
The mentoring programme has been so incredible being able to speak with Georgia regularly and hearing her insights and advice and support for all that my daughter is doing sport-wise. She has been truly inspirational to her!
Parent, Silver Programme, November 2024
She had an amazing day (as a mascot at Peterborough United). A massive thank you for the whole mentee experience. She has gained a whole lot more confidence, which is what me and the school, both hoped for. She has loved her calls with Bobby and is so excited every time she gets to tell him she has completed her goals. Saturday was the best day for her. She was nervous about going on the pitch where people could see her, especially the training part, but she absolutely smashed it.
It was such a lovely day. It was nice that the teachers could see a different side to my daughter away from the classroom and school environment. See her push through her nerves and still got stuck in.Parent, Gold Programme, October 2024
Georgia (Darlow) has been so awesome, such a lovely, bubbly mentor and incredible netball player and my daughter has loved talking with her - I think she even managed to make her a little less shy!
Parent, Silver Programme, September 2024
The (sports awards) evening went well. Eboni (Usoro – Brown) was absolutely amazing. She showed real care for the pupils, real genuine interest in the school and her speech was amazing. We have had lots of positive feedback about her and her speech was exactly what we would have hoped for.
Director of Sport, Ibstock Place School, September 2024
We really did love having Pamela (Cookey) for our Speech Day. She was wonderful is so many ways, not least of which she spoke directly to our pupils and was able to connect with them through her story of working hard and never giving up to achieve your goals. She spent time with some of our netballers, who absolutely loved her company in a small group setting, too.
Headteacher, Terra Nova School, September 2024
It really was an excellent day when Grace Moore visited our school. All the children really enjoyed meeting Grace and taking part in her workshops but what really stood out for me and my colleagues was Grace's truly excellent assembly. Without doubt, her story was inspirational and I felt she engaged brilliantly with the children. In particular, I think her story resonated with many of our girls. To get them all so interested was so valuable.
As a result of the success of the day, we have rejigged our curriculum for the coming year to include more tag rugby!
PE Coordinator, Bronze Rugby Programme, August 2024
Pamela (Cookey) was exceptional and the kids loved her speech, very engaging.
Parent, Bronze Sports Awards, August 2024
Pamela (Cookey) was incredible. She spoke superbly and exactly at the right level for our kids and their parents. She was so inspiring. I had lots of feedback from parents and pupils on the night saying they thought she was incredible.
Director of Sport, Bronze Sports Awards, August 2024
May I take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for providing such an amazing experience to my son. He was overjoyed and blown away with the day’s proceedings (at the Hundred).
It was definitely an experience that will stay with him a very long time and be a catalyst and inspiration to be a successful professional cricketer and / or footballer, as he is equally dedicated and determined about both and sports in general.
I would like to extend my thanks to you all guys involved. It was a great project and handled very professionally and courteously at every level. My son felt extremely grateful for the warm welcome shown by all the Sky Sports team especially Ms Abi who was very kind and inviting.
Parent, Gold Programme, August 2024
My son and I were absolutely blown away by the whole experience (at Lord’s watching England Women v the White Ferns and having a tour with Sky Sports Cricket).
I can’t tell you how much my son enjoyed it and to see nothing but pure joy on his face from start to finish has made my day!
It’s definitely opened my son’s eyes and mind to the endless possibilities and opportunities that are out there.
Thank you again and if you could pass on my thanks to the Sky Sports team who were amazing at talking us through the whole experience.
You guys are amazing!
Honestly, I work in a secondary school and never knew this existed! My boy was on cloud nine. Thank you again.
Parent, Gold Programme, July 2024
My sports lead just came to see me to say that he’d had his best day in school ever yesterday. He loved the day with Fil (Kamps) and one of our deaf children scored a goal in a football match after school which meant we won. IMMEDIATE IMPACT.

As Jordan (Jarrett – Bryan) was walking out, he complimented our children and said they were great kids. This was lovely to hear.

Thank you the Mintridge Foundation, you have been an integral part of the week long torch relay and Ability Games.
CEO, East Midlands Academy Trust, June 2024
It was truly great to welcome Heather (Fell OLY) to school to get our Olympic preparations underway. She delivered a fantastic assembly that engaged all the children and staff, and it was great that our Sports Council also got to meet Heather and spend time talking to her about her achievements. They were buzzing.
Thank you for sending the photos and for your goody bag. That, alongside Heather’s visit was one of the best starts to a week at work I have had in a long time.
Thank you once again for creating this opportunity for our school-it is much appreciated.
Headteacher, Barton Seagrave Primary School, June 2024
Thank you for coming in and teaching tennis to us. I love tennis now.
Student, Studfall Junior Academy, June 2024
I can't tell you how much my daughter enjoyed Friday. She hasn't stopped talking about netball all weekend! Pamela Cookey has made a huge impression on her.....just in time for secondary school!!! Thankyou.
My girls absolutely loved this and actually started tennis lessons on Saturday mornings this week and Jade was part to thanks for this.
My daughter had such a great time, loved every minute and was chuffed to receive one of the medals
My son has not yet put his card down he got.
I just wanted to share with you how much my son enjoyed his session with you. He was recently diagnosed, after several scans lumbar punctures etc, with a condition that is basically swelling on the brain with no known cause, he is doing a lot better now he is on tablets to reduce the swelling. Before his diagnosis he played tennis for a few hours a week but the terrible headaches he suffered with stopped him from playing as he physically didn’t feel able. Taking part in Jade’s session was the first time he’d played tennis in months and it made him realise how much he was missing it and that he was feeling ready to go back to his lessons, when I picked him up from school he asked me to message his coach to tell him he was ready to start again. So thank you for running such an inspirational session, you really made a difference.
Parents, Bronze Netball and Tennis Programme, June 2024
I just wanted to say again a massive thank you for last night! Please pass on a big thank you to Patrick as well, it was nice to hear someone be very open and honest about their personal battles in life.
Coach, Steelbacks Foundation, May 2024, Max Hunter Fund Mental Health Awareness Week Roadshow
I feel so privileged to be in the position I am now, having been through so much negativity, to be able to deliver these programmes through the Mintridge Foundation. I can have an impact on people’s lives through sharing my story which is amazing place to be.
Sharing my story can be a little tiring but ultimately it helps me process what I’ve been through, acts as a form of therapy and I realise how lucky I am to be in a position to stand on stage and share my journey after everything I’ve been through.
It is very rewarding when you hear of someone that it has impacted and that makes it all worthwhile.
It’s important to share lived experiences of adversity, complex trauma and mental illness. In doing so I believe those listening build a small element of resilience and if they are unfortunate to experience something throughout their lives it might help them deal with, talk about or seek help at the right time.
After sharing my story, I feel exhausted and drained, particularly emotionally but actually in a really good way because it’s so rewarding to know you may have had an impact on or changed someone’s day/life.
People always say it’s amazing what we do but selfishly it’s very cathartic and therapeutic for us too and helps us as well as others.
Patrick Foster (Mintridge Ambassador), May 2024
This is important and brings together the power of networking, talking, kindness & supporting each other - all key pillars in mental health.
In 2022, I persuaded my fabulous former boss to invite me to a Women in Sport event for International Women’s Day I confess that I was keen to meet the main speaker, Rebecca Adlington (who was amazing).
When I arrived, I confess to feeling very out of depth - surrounded by incredible female athletes. As I was trying to eat a croissant elegantly and come up with my sporting prowess back story (darts??) I was approached by a lady with a huge smile and incredible energy – Alex Wallace.
We started talking and I felt a huge connection to the work she is pioneering around mental health and sport. We exchanged business cards and hooked up on social media.
I introduced the Mintridge team to our college and a first event was held in 2022 bringing together Mintridge ambassadors with college students.
Fast forward two years and one of our Mental Health First Aiders came to speak to me about a week of activities she was planning for Mental Health Awareness Week. She asked for my help to bring in an inspirational speaker. I immediately thought of Alex and sent her an email to ask if she could help. Well of course she could and within the space of a few weeks, we had a full day of talks in place.
What an incredible impact they had on around 500 staff and students.
Alex was joined by Patrick Foster and Ben Gallagher who told their incredible stories.Ben, your bravery and resilience are humbling nature, set against your incredible sporting prowess and distinguished military career. As a gold medalist at the 2023 Invictus Games and endurance athlete extraordinaire - I am in awe. I hope to see you in Paris 2024 at the Paralympics - taking home the gold in the rowing. Thank you for sharing your journey.
Patrick, I’m still reflecting on your story and raw honesty as a professional cricketer whose life was changed through a gambling addiction. Your searing honesty and journey to recovery and helping others has struck a chord with so many. I know I speak for many of us in saying how much you made us reflect personally and how much we valued your advice on wellbeing and supporting our friends and family.
I must thank the supporters of the Max Hunter Fund - set up in memory of Max who died by suicide in 2019. Your generosity in supporting the event is hugely valued and appreciated.
Mental Health Awareness must be more than a day or a week of events - it must be something we talk about every day. Alex, Ben and Patrick - you have made us as a community stop, think and reflect. There is more to do but we will keep talking and supporting each other with kindness and compassion. Thank you.Staff Member, Max Hunter Fund Mental Health Awareness Week Roadshow, May 2024
So very, very powerful, thought provoking, emotional and for some, life changing. I am overwhelmed by the response and feedback from staff and students. Thank you for making this happen and to Ben and Patrick for their raw honesty, compassion and kindness. Their stories have touched a lot of people today – including myself.
Staff Member, Max Hunter Fund Mental Health Awareness Week Roadshow, May 2024
Thank you so much for coming in and arranging the speakers, it was truly inspirational.
Both Ben and Patrick are great role models so thank you for sharing your experiences with us all.

The mental health talk was very interesting and I loved the two stories (from Patrick and Ben). Thank you for inviting them to talk to us .
Student, Max Hunter Fund Mental Health Awareness Week Programme, May 2024
Meeting Mintridge was the start of a wonderful relationship that has brought unimaginable experiences and inspiration to the hundreds of children I work with. It has also kept me fit, training for events such as the Great North Run so I can put back a little of what I take out!
The Mintridge Foundation is close to my heart because of the doors it opens. Not just for the young people they work with but also for the Sports Ambassadors themselves. Mintridge days have quickly become very special days in my schools and I really value the partnership we've developed.
I can't put into words the feelings these wonderful people generate in my students. The magic of having them in school for just one day, lives in the hearts and memories of my pupils forever. Inspiring them on even the toughest of days. Their work has the power to instil the kind of motivation and self-belief that changes lives forever.
Becky Ford, Wollaston Primary School, May 2024
We were honoured to hear an impressive speech from our VIP guest Eboni Usoro-Brown. In her speech, Eboni reflected on key milestones in her career and how she maintained resilience, strength and dedication throughout.
She offered the girls invaluable advice about sticking to their goals, getting comfortable with feeling uncomfortable in the pursuit of success and the importance of balancing training with academic dedication.
We would like to extend our enormous thanks to Eboni for coming to our Sports Awards Evening as our VIP guest speaker and inspiring the girls with her incredible success story.
The night was a huge success, and we had lovely emails stating how much students loved Eboni's message.
Francis Holland School, May 2024
The Cambridgeshire District School Sport Association Awards was a great success, and we really enjoyed the night. Laura (Sugar) went down a storm.

Sport & PE Administrator, Malvern St. James, March 2024
Three fantastic ambassadors from your team visited my daughter’s school.
Pamela (Cookey), Grace (Balsdon OLY) and Ami (Campbell) were inspirational and helped to show the ups and downs of a sporting career.
It was also great to hear someone else self saying to do as many sports as you can!
Good coaches will always encourage everything!
Parent, March 2024, Bronze Programme
The students were really grateful for Liz’s session. One of our students spoke to Liz about his judo, he came in this morning and said “I did what Liz said and pushed through and look AT THE MEDAL I got.”
VICTORIA AYRES, Assistant Head - Student Experience
Wollaston School, March 2024
Clare's energy and passion shine - she's an incredible ambassador for inclusion. Congratulations on all you are achieving with this important mission at The Mintridge Foundation.
Teacher, March 2024
It was breathtaking hearing Clare talk and witnessing how The Abbey School is working not only with their students but also with the community and local schools, celebrating young people.
Kindness is key! We particularly enjoyed the talk on getting young people involved in all assets of sport, instead of feeling they’re not good enough. This has always worked so well in theatre arts and enriched so many young lives that don’t want to perform!
What a great event - Clare Balding was so entertaining and inspirational.
Clare (Balding) was fantastic! Very funny, very authentic, very important messages about the value of being true to yourself and of women's sport in particular.
Clare was making us laugh, keeping it real, and reminding us that in the grand old game of life, authenticity is the MVP.
Guests at a talk with the Mintridge Foundation Patron, Clare Balding CBE, February 2024
A very sincere thank you to The Mintridge Foundation for facilitating and enabling the afternoon with Clare at The Abbey last Thursday.
The school community was 'fizzing' with energy and excitement fed by Clare's incredible passion, humour and extraordinary storytelling.
You and she created the most memorable and magical afternoon and I am proud to say that her 'Dare to be Different' talk was attended by students from 14 schools across Reading, so her impact will have been far and wide across the town.
I am in awe at how Clare powered through all the various elements of the afternoon!
I'm so impressed with what you are doing with this important mission to raise aspiration in young people through sport!
Director of Engagement and Development – The Abbey School, February 2024
My son got injured last Friday and has torn his AC Joint. He is ok and won’t need surgery, just rest and physio. He is handling it so well. He said that he was thinking about his mentoring and what George (Furbank) taught him. George told him that injury can make or break an athlete and he is going to come back stronger. I am really proud of him. Thank you for what you have given him.
Parent, February 2024 (8 months after the end of his Silver Mentoring Programme)
My daughter had a fantastic day as part of your Mintridge programme. She hopes to one day be part of your team.

Director of Sport, Howell’s School, February 2024
We really appreciate Iona’s perseverance and enthusiasm with our daughter through the last six months. Our daughter has enjoyed her calls and I think will get a lot out of them moving forwards. I'm sure she'll reflect on the calls and definitely be able to draw from what she's learned through the activities Iona has done with her as she develops and matures.
Parent, Silver Programme, January 2024
The Mintridge Programme was absolutely fantastic. The children loved it and got so much out of the Aspirations day. Laura (Sugar) and Katie (Smith) were brilliant with the kids!
Mr. Ben Collins, School Sports and Clubs, Behaviour, Parenting and Attendance Lead, St Mary's CEVA Primary Academy
The children absolutely loved these visits and adored the ambassadors. It was fantastic to see the pupils look up to the two of them as role models and just how engaged they were with the sessions. When Jordan spoke to the older children, I could see the impact it had and how it made them realise that the impossible can be achieved.
Becky McGeechan, PE lead at Hayfield Cross Primary School, January 2024
“It really made me think about what I can do and how I can achieve my goals.”
Year 6 Pupil, Jordan Jarrett – Bryan Assembly, January 2024
Well what can I say, we are absolutely thrilled that you have chosen Charlie for this amazing award. Very proud parents indeed!
Charlie has really enjoyed the whole mentor process and has created quite a relationship with George - a natural and relaxed friendship by the end.
Thank you for such an amazing opportunity for Charlie.
I can definitely say this means so much to us as a family, we are incredibly proud of him. His dedication and focus for rugby is unbelievable.
The mentoring has been a real journey, the Mintridge team are a real force!
Parent following the announcement of the Anna Horrell Award, December 2023
I have to admit, there was a bit of a bottom lip wobble when I found out (about Charlie winning the Anna Horrell Award).
The mentoring that Charlie was given & engaged in was amazing and a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm so glad that he was able to engage in the way that he did and the fact you've created an award to recognise mentees like this is even more incredible.
Head of PE, Beckfoot School, 2023
Thank you for everything that you did to make it a very special occasion for the girls and their families that I am sure they will remember for many years to come.
Parent following a Mascot Opportunity, December 2023
It has been fantastic to work with Mintridge and be able to share in celebrating and recognising so many of our community superstars.
Thank you to Heather Fell OLY for making the awards event extra special!
Heather Fell OLY really is inspirational and such an incredible ambassador for sport! She was certainly in demand at our Awards Ceremony as she was tirelessly going out of her way to speak to so many people throughout the evening. I’m sure it made many people’s night to be able to have a chat with her and I’m so glad she had the chance to speak to our young modern pentathlete.
Principal Leisure Manager – Sport and Play Development, North Northamptonshire County Council, November 2023
Please pass on my thanks to Eboni. She gave the absolutely perfect speech for this occasion – we were in awe! Her story and her words were truly inspirational.
Blackheath High Junior School Teacher, July 2023
Thank you Zoe Aldcroft for an inspiring evening. Your story was such a humbling reminder of the importance that school sport holds with aspiring sports performers. Our students gained a role model this evening. All the best next season with Gloucester Hartpury – there’s a new band of fans waiting.
Sports Teacher, Katharine Lady Berkeley's School, July 2023
We were so lucky to have Jeanette Kwakye speak at our Annual Sports Awards this week. She certainly hit home with all of the right messages of passion, purpose and perseverance. An amazing role model for our own sporting heroes.
Headteacher, Blackheath High School, July 2023
My son has just switched from crewing to helming a Cadet and has had a great start. He got so much from his time with Hannah (Diamond).
He competed in his first ever event as a helm at the RYA East Junior Championships at Grafham Water. He convincingly won the coached Regatta fleet with 5 firsts out of 7 races and was regularly beating many of the more experienced Championship fleet.
He then won the Development Trophy at our home club of Waldringfield after beating his fellow new helms. This was the trophy he really wanted, it's a beautiful wooden trophy with the River Deben etched into it.
Parent, Silver Mentoring Programme, July 2023
What a day! Thank you Mintridge Foundation, Hannah Diamond, Shona McCallin MBE & Pamela Cookey. Our girls came away buzzing and in awe of these sporting superstars!
Old Vicarage School Social Media, May 2023
It was a fantastic evening with 2 engaging speakers that compelling shared their life stories. I chatted to a lot of the students afterwards and the evening certainly had an impact on them and will give them so many ‘take aways’ for now and the future.
Staff Member, Hartpury University College, May 2023
Wow! What can I say, the presentations last evening were amazing, both Patrick (Foster) and Nigel (Owens MBE) were incredible in sharing their stories with us, at times I was totally blown away. My drive home was full of reflection.
We had 97 students in attendance, all of whom I believe will take something away from the stories that they heard.
In the two years that we have been running the Residential Life Programme here at Hartpury, I have never witnessed the students to be so engaged and for such a long period of time.
I hope that we can look for ways to work together in the future using different ambassadors of yours.
Staff Member, Hartpury University College, May 2023
From a room of rowdy students to absolute engrossment. Genuinely inspirational stories from two equally inspirational speakers (Patrick Foster & Nigel Owens MBE). So impactful. Huge thanks for sharing your experiences.
Staff Member, Hartpury University College, May 2023
Great day out at Northampton Saints with my mentor, George Furbank. Dream come true thank you to everyone that made it happen at the Mintridge Foundation and the whole Northampton team. Got to watch the team train, have a kicking session with George and then a bonus tour round the changing rooms with Kevin the kit man.
Student, Gold Programme, April 2023
“We started last week hearing from Pamela Cookey, supported by The Mintridge Foundation - a great talk at our school about her career in the England Netball team (as well as life off-court). From captaining the team, to medals, to getting through injuries - her commitment and passion shone through. As did her message about just having fun!”
Teacher, March 2023
I’ve worked with the Mintridge Foundation on a number of occasions and if you’re looking for an engaging and energetic sports-themed day, I highly recommend them and their ambassadors!
Headteacher, February 2023
There are literally hundreds of students walking round with George Furbank's signature in their lanyards. There have been a number of new students asking/coming to rugby training as a result.
Teacher, Silver Programme, January 2023
Eboni (Usoro – Brown) was inspirational, personable and a great coach! She engaged brilliantly with every group and allowed all girls opportunities to be involved no matter their ability and understanding. Eboni was able to adapt sessions where needed.
The girls and those who attended the presentation loved it! A truly inspiring day!
Having Eboni in for the day was a special opportunity for all. Her experience, knowledge and inspiring nature was obvious amongst the girls throughout the day. Her masterclass sessions were brilliant and every girl was able to develop their netball and were given the opportunity to ask questions to her at the end. Her presentation to staff, students and parents at the end of the day was interesting, engaging and inspirational. Learning how to take knock backs, as well as how much hard work and balancing of time is required to reach the highest level was certainly eye opening and useful for our sports scholars to hear. It was a great day and we cannot thank Eboni enough for spending her time with us.
Teacher, Bronze Programme, January 2023
Eboni (Usoro – Brown) was amazing. My daughter has now set her mind on becoming the best she can be and wants to show the same drive and determination as Eboni (her words)!
Eboni has really impressed my daughter so thank you as it is great for them to see what people can achieve if they really set their minds to it, to not give up and to always look for ways to improve.
Parent, Bronze Programme, January 2023
Danielle, thank you so much for the mentorship! You have given me a very positive experience and I will continue to apply the advice you have given me throughout the process. You have helped me a lot with day to day issues whether they were general or specific.
I enjoyed how open it was to talk about anything in general life and how adaptive the sessions were. I could bring up a new challenge and tasks were adapted to help with a specific challenge. I am now able to continue using these tasks and strategies in my own time for whatever challenges I have to face now.
I think that being able to cope with challenges that I face is easier as I now have access to strategies that have been introduced by my mentor, Danielle. When I am faced with a setback or a challenge rather than approaching it stressed, I am able to look at the challenge and apply these strategies. I think after the mentorship I am now able to approach a challenge or set back with a much more positive mindset rather than shying away from them. I have enjoyed Danielle’s regular meets and the help she has given throughout the process. I have now got tasks at hand and strategies which can be applied to different situations in my life to be able to overcome challenges that I face!
My confidence has improved after the mentor programme. I feel I am more willing to try new things which are out of my comfort zone.
My goals and ambitions have maintained quite similar to before my mentorship, however, one thing that has changed is that I now want to join a sports club when I start university to stay active.
Before my mentorship, I responded to stress and pressure by panicking about it and only being able to think about that one thing that was making me feel pressure or stress. But now I am able to find other activities to distract myself from feeling too much stress or pressure and maintain a clearer mind. Overall, this causes the outcome to be better when I am balancing my time between working towards the thing, such as an exam which is causing me stress and leisure activities such as seeing friends or physical activity.
Student, Silver Programme, January 2023
We were really impressed with Patrick Foster. His story was hard hitting but brilliantly delivered. Pupils said Patrick’s journey was eye opening.
A really positive experience all round!
Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Truro School, December 2022
People have been commenting all day about what a great speech you (Alex Wallace) gave, how it ‘hit’ exactly the right spot in terms of mental wellbeing as well as motivation, and what an engaging speaker you are.
I totally agree with all of them!
Headteacher, Prince William School, December 2022
It was a fantastic programme with you at Mintridge. My daughter misses it and talking to her mentor, Olivia Rae. She often looks back on the things that they talked about to help her.
Parent, October 2022
"The work the team do at Mintridge is amazing and I know that the money raised during the challenge will have gone a long way to improving young people’s lives."
Fundraiser, October 2022
On our remote mentoring programme…
I have enjoyed chatting with someone who has had similar experiences to me and who can talk to me about how they dealt with them.
The area in my life that has improved is confidence and being able to feel part of the team. I feel I could be more confident but the chats with Fil (Kamps) and learning ways to help improve this have massively helped me.
This experience has helped me make better decisions and given the confidence to explore other opportunities.
I think I am a positive person who wants to achieve good things and understands that working hard and being comfortable being uncomfortable is a good thing. I hope the lessons I have learned with Fil will help me with this.
My ambition is always the same to be the best I can be and hopefully one day represent my country at Paralympic Games or Cerebral Palsy World Cup. The mentoring has only helped inspire me more to push to achieve my goals.
I’ve had a few challenges and unforeseen setbacks in recent months but the tools I have learned from Fil have really helped with this.
I would say to speak with someone who is not in your family or friendship group is really important, just to hear another opinion or experience can really help.
Thanks so much for the opportunity, the Foundation came to me at a great time and has really helped.
Student, October 2022
My son is part of the Para Football Pathway as he has right sided Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy. My son has faced many challenges both on and off the pitch during his time in football.
The mentoring programme for me was about giving my son the opportunity to hear a new voice from someone who has had similar experience. I hoped this would be something that my son would embrace and feel comfortable with speaking to someone who understands what he has and is going through.
The team at the Foundation went above anything I could have hoped for and Fil Kamps (my son’s mentor) couldn’t have been more perfect for him.
This has had a positive impact in all aspects of his life. When we first approached the Foundation, my son’s confidence both at school and within his sporting life were quite low. The programme, and Fil gave my son that sounding board to be able to discuss these issues and give him the tools to be able to rebuild his confidence.
When we first started, my son had a particularly bad experience within football and he questioned why he would carry on. Since the programme, my son made the difficult decision to move from the club where is friends and where he had grown up playing to access another pathway. This decision was helped and supported by Fil and gave my son the confidence to move on. My son has also recently been selected for the national emerging talent pathway for the England para lions something again that before this programme, my son didn’t feel was achievable.
This has been a great experience and something that I would definitely recommend as a parent. We as parents always try to talk to our children and help and support them in anyway, but sometimes they need a different voice someone who see thing’s slightly different and can offer their experience. Fil Kamps and the Foundation definitely did this and although a lot of the times the things us as parents say are similar to what Fil was saying having that extra voice has been a fantastic asset.
Parent, October 2022
I love seeing your guys’ work. You are an inspiration to our younger generation. Keep smashing it!

I just wanted to thank you again for the judo sessions. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive from the pupils.

Working with Mintridge is great. There is always clear communication throughout. Everyone is very helpful and friendly.

The mentoring programme and Hannah (Diamond) herself have been brilliant, it has really helped my daughter with her sailing, both with the intricacies of sail racing but also the broader picture of sportsmanship and understanding what everyone else is going through. A thoroughly recommended programme.
Parent, September 2022
Grace (Harrison) has been fantastic with my daughter. I think it will be even more valuable for my daughter over the coming weeks too.
Parent, August 2022
“I used “Hannah’s Circle” and taught my crew to use it too.”
Student, August 2022
Pamela (Cookey) has been a fantastic Mentor and we have loved it that even after all of these years, she still benefits from her support and she is still in touch with my daughter. This speaks volumes about the impact you have on young people.
Parent, August 2022
I just want to say a massive thank you to you all for the work you continuously do week after week to make this happen for the kids and for us as ambassadors. I hope you get as much joy from these events as we do! What and who we see when we are young is really important in shaping aspirations and ambitions, the representation we have at Mintridge and the ethos at the core of it all plays such a pivotal role in getting that right for the next generation. I'm always so proud to tell people about Mintridge and you are all a massive part of why! Keep being awesome!
Fil Kamps, July 2022
I'm so fortunate to work with some amazing organisations and The Mintridge Foundation is one of them.
Fil Kamps, July 2022
What a superb service you provide!
Jay Davenport, Northampton School For Girls, July 2022
My son took huge inspiration from both Jordan (Jarrett – Bryan) and Jack (Fleckney). Out of all of the sessions offered to the Year 10’s during their Careers Day, these were by far his favourite.
Parent, July 2022
The children were BUZZING when they returned to class after Khadijah Safari’s session and want to join a local club!
Class Teacher, Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, July 2022
Thank you very much for your support with the recent Year 10 Career Days, and as usual, the team didn’t disappoint. It is a real pleasure to have you in the school to work with our students. As I walked around from session to session over the 2 days, I kept hearing positive little snippets from students talking about either Jordan and Jack.
The students were determined to get as much as they could out of the sessions they were going to.
It was fantastic to see so many individuals and businesses keen to inspire and enthuse our young people. We not only appreciate the time taken in preparing for the event but also the time involved in being out of your organisation.
Thank you for your contribution to the Year 10 event and look forward to working with you again.
Yvonne Kenton, The Ferrers School, July 2022
Thank you to you and Fi for a fantastic event. The girls had a great time, and it was great to see them all having such fantastic fun.
Tim Dixon Dale, Oakham School, June 2022
As Principal of Warboys Primary Academy, I've had the privilege of working with Mintridge over the last year to deliver a successful sports mentoring programme for the children in my school.
I am passionate about raising the aspirations of the children I work with and providing them with opportunities to be mentored by inspiring individuals who have the power to change their lives.
Unfortunately nothing is free in this world and school budgets are increasingly squeezed. Expectations are high but resources are limited. My aim is to raise enough money to ensure that the pupils of Warboys can experience the privilege of working with inspirational sporting role models. My school's partnership with Mintridge is enriching the experiences of our children in such a special way and by fundraising I hope to ensure this work can be sustained for the future.
Becky Ford, Warboys Primary Academy, July 2022
We would just like to say a huge thank you. Khadijah (Safari) and Jo were great, and the students really enjoyed the session. Linking the faith and sport together worked really well. Hopefully we can do something similar again in the future.
Head of Religious Studies, Gordon’s School, June 2022
Hannah (Diamond) is absolutely fantastic and has a real talent in breaking down complex sailing into simple concepts that my son grasps.

Thank you for making this happen. My daughter was so excited to share this experience with us when she got home and was super proud of the medal she got too. Clearly very inspirational.
Parent, June 2022
Thank you so much for your visit. We felt so privileged to host Grace to kick off National School Sports Week. The children in KS2 were captivated. It was so inspiring and created such a buzz amongst the children and staff. Grace was amazing. Thank you for your wonderful pictures, you can see how much the children got out of their work with Grace.

OMG! Foundations has just arrived and it is the most beautiful book I have ever ever seen. Had a sneaky read (bought 2 and they are gifts for my 12 year old sporty nieces!).The words are fantastic and the illustrations are absolutely delightful!
You should be very proud of all your hard work.
So recommended.
Foundations Customer, April 2022
Bowbridge Homes’ partnership with The Mintridge Foundation is something which we are incredibly proud of. The Mintridge Foundation strive to work alongside us and our aims, understanding our values and how they align with the values of the foundation. This ensures that the programmes which we sponsor are beneficial to the communities in which we build and have a lasting impact and legacy.
Our Managing Director is passionate about the benefit of sports and exercise on young people and, having three young children of his own, understands the importance of children being exposed to positive role models.
“I went along to the first of these sessions at Campion School in Bugbrooke on Tuesday and was amazed that at such a young age, the kids really got the message. It isn’t about being great at a particular sport, it’s about taking that ethos, that you need to practice and persevere to be good at something and applying it to everyday life goals, whatever they may be.”
Right from our initial discussions, it was clear that Alex and the Mintridge Foundation team were able to understand that Bowbridge Homes mission was not just to build houses, but to build communities. Part of this ethos entailed ‘giving something back’ to the communities, towns and villages in which they build.
As a result of this, The Mintridge Foundation runs programmes at schools near all of our developments. Not only does this help Bowbridge Homes fulfil their CSR aims, but it helps raise their profile in the localities near their developments. The Mintridge Foundation are also proactive in engaging our staff where possible, through attending staff meetings to give feedback on how their contribution is benefitting young people and through encouraging them to get involved in fundraising.
Part of our ethos is that we build houses that we are proud of. Thanks to The Mintridge Foundation, we have built a charity partnership that we are equally as proud of and we hope to continue to build and develop.
Bowbridge Homes, April 2022
Thank you, Alex and Marilyn for a fantastic International Women’s Day, we’ve had a real spike in our female engagement since.
Sports Development and Delivery Team Leader, Newham College, March 2022
My son has really relaxed into it and was chatting away about some technical sailing stuff that I didn’t understand! He’s definitely starting to get a lot out of this - we talk about things he’s done with Hannah before he goes out and he also chats to his helm about it. Learning about setting goals and debriefing after sailing is excellent.
Parent, Silver Programme, March 2022
Mintridge has continued to be part of the success story of our primary school for many years!
Headteacher, March 2022
My son has definitely relaxed into the mentoring as he gets to know Hannah. The practical sailing tips really resonate with him. He has scribbled notes after the sessions and has ideas about what he wants to discuss which is great to see.
Parent, Silver Programme, March 2022
I’m still brimming with positivity after the GDST Day – honestly, if I’d had that opportunity growing up it could have been a real gamechanger for teenage Danielle!
It was amazing – I think I might have been as inspired as the school girls!
Danielle Brown MBE, February 2022
“It was such a fab day and the best bit for me was hearing those that had never played netball before asking when netball club was at school.”
Pamela Cookey, Sutton Academy, February 2022
Thank you so much for all your effort and organisation behind the scenes for the GDST conference.
It was a great day to be a part of and I hope we had 240+ girls leaving inspired and motivated to change and impact women in sport.
Shona McCallin MBE, GDST Sport Scholars’ Conference, February 2022
Please could I express my gratitude and thanks for today.
I have literally just received another email from one of the maths teachers who was in for the assembly, saying how much she loved the talk. I had both Heads of Years saying how incredible Emma was in the talks and how the students felt so inspired from Emma’s story.
I found the video so moving and for the students to see what Emma went through, but how she has overcome obstacles and achieve what she has was great. How Emma changed her mindset and how her positive outlook on life has kept her motivated. Just amazing!
There was such an enormous buzz around the school for the rest of the day. I spoke to students, and they absolutely loved it. To see the students’ faces when Emma held up her medals and how Emma let the students hold the medals, it was honestly just so amazing!
So thank you so much.
I hope that any possible future talks Emma may be able to do, please bare us in mind as a School. The students (and staff) will take so much from it and I bet Emma has only touched the surface of what she could have spoken about. Truly such a great day.
PE Teacher – John Ferneley College, November 2021
Awesome that Mintridge has got Zoe Harrison involved. She will inspire heaps of young girls.
I follow the Foundation on Facebook and enjoy reading about the various visits they carry out. The Mintridge team are doing great things.
Mintridge Supporter, November 2021
Marilyn Okoro was my daughter’s mentor when she was at Middlecott Academy in Kirton Lincolnshire and her main love is rugby. Marilyn gave her more confidence to strive to get where she wants to. After playing rugby since the age of 6, she has played, club level, county level , England centre of rugby excellence and is now playing for Saracens ladies and played her first premier game yesterday. It just shows that determination players a big part in sport and Marilyn gave my daughter this through her mentoring. So a big thank you to Marilyn and to the Mintridge Foundation for inspiring young people. Thank you.
Parent, Silver Programme, November 2021
Thank you so much Alex. Your presentation was so interesting and your passion for the cause clearly comes across.
Dr Ellie May, Senior Lecturer Events, School of Events, Tourism & Hospitality Management, Leeds Beckett University, October 2021
Thank you for such a wonderful day and everything you have sent over.
The children are still buzzing about the day and we have had so many wonderful comments from parents.
Leen Mills Primary School - Deputy Head Teacher Feedback, October 2021
Dear Funders,
Thank you so much for providing the support to allow for Eboni Usuro-Brown and the Mintridge foundation to come and visit Caroline Chisholm School. The day was a huge success and both staff and students enjoyed the day immensely.
‘Harnessing the power of positive sporting role models’ is exactly what the Mintridge Foundation provided for us on their visit. To be specific- we had a very academically disengaged pupil, who is interested in sport, take part in the sessions. She won one of the two prizes given out by Eboni in the training session which has boosted her confidence massively. Before the visit, the above student, was only really interested in playing sport, however over the last two weeks we have seen her self-confidence rise and the decisions she is making in school are starting to become more positive.
I am really looking forward to working with the Mintridge foundation and seeing how our chosen Mentee will flourish whilst being mentored by the wonderful Eboni!
Thank you for allowing this to happen for our school and we sincerely hope we get to work with you again the future.
Caroline Chisholm School - PE Teacher Feedback, September 2021
Fantastic - thank you so much for sharing your write up and the photos. The scholars got a lot out of it and it was a real privilege to have Eboni come into PF last week.
Thanks again for all the arranging and support to make it happen for us.Prior’s Field School - Director of Sport Feedback, September 2021
Thank you so much for the photos and for the link to the Blog.
They are very good and I will include this in my newsletter to the families this week.
Thank you again for arranging this wonderful visit and I look forward to welcoming one of your other Ambassadors to QE should we be that fortunate.
Queen Eleanor’s C of E Junior School - Headteacher Feedback, September 2021
My daughter had Marilyn Okoro as her mentor. She gave my daughter more confidence to aim for her goals and it worked! My daughter pusher herself harder and the hard work paid off. She is now training with the Saracens ladies rugby team. Her dreams are coming true. Thank you Mintridge Foundation!
Parent, Silver Programme, September 2021
I have enjoyed the expert cricket tips that I received from Ben (Smith), which have really helped me with my game – I have scored over double the runs that I have ever scored in a single season this year. I have become more confident out on the cricket pitch and have more faith in myself to achieve my goals. Ben has helped me to be more confident in my cricketing ability and to find positive spins on negative situations, especially when getting low scores. A noticeable difference to my game has occurred as a result.
Thanks Ben for all of your invaluable help. I believe it has really changed my game, and I will try to carry the skills over to next season and beyond!
Limitless Ambassador Mentee, 2021 (Ben Smith Silver Programme)
I am of course still playing netball and joined the University of Gloucestershire teams where the standard is amazing, so has been great to play on court with such skilled girls. I feel my netball has definitely improved since our mentoring programme, especially on the tactical and teamwork side, and have really valued your mentoring help a few years ago; such a privilege.
Student, Silver Programme, September 2021 (4 years after mentoring).
I just love this "job" and these amazing young women!
I’m so glad that my mentees got back in touch after our programme and are grabbing life with such gusto and achieving wonderful things!
Pamela Cookey, August 2021
Netball is what has got her through this horrid time, and we will always be so grateful to Pamela for her encouragement and support.
Parent, Secondary School, Buckinghamshire, August 2021
I am preparing for the upcoming school year; I feel ready for it. This holiday has given me time to think and reflect over the past school year (during Covid). It's been a long ride but I've made it with help from my family, yourself Pamela (Cookey), teachers and others.
Student, Moulton School, August 2021 (One year after the end of the Silver Mentoring Programme)
I’ve been transitioning into playing more GA than GS, as you can imagine I’m a little bit short to be considered a GS as my 1st position so that’s been challenging but am loving it- definitely channelling my inner Pamela! I still can’t thank you enough for all of the help you’ve given me, you’ve definitely inspired me to have a crack at a lot of things including trialling for various teams!
Student, Gresham’s School, Silver Mentoring Programme, August 2021 (3 years after the end of the programme).
Each speaker was so different and unique it was a really good combination for our students.
Emma Wiggs MBE was naturally comfortable with telling her story which is inspirational and a very good start to the online talks. Got the students interacting really well. Lots of encouragement and advice for them to think about.
Jade Windley was really grounded and I think our students could relate especially our Tennis Academy players. Good interaction with students. Again good tips and advice the students should be looking to implement.
Liz Cann was a nice contrast of sport as we don't have any badminton scholars. Like the others, lots of food for thought for them and again good to get them interacting.
Lots of our students could relate to Laura Sugar’s hockey and it was really good to hear about the change of sports and pathways she has made. Hopefully showing the students the endless possibilities that may be out there for them.
The Mintridge programme has helped students to understand the hard work that is required, dealing with setbacks as well as balancing the many different facets and commitments they take on in life.
Experience with Mintridge has been brilliant, great communication and liaison with Katie who is always prepared, organised and helpful.
Priors Field Director of Sport, July 2021
Students need to be aware that everyone starts in the same position they are in now.
Eboni and Marilyn were wonderful and I wouldn't want them to change. They made the students feel relaxed and keen to listen. They were inspirational to our students and staff - just what was needed. Friendly is the phrase that is coming out of the student and teacher surveys and I wholeheartedly agree. Staff and students are still buzzing from both days.
I took Marilyn’s individual letters to our students, they had the biggest smiles on their faces when they read them; it choked me a little!
It was a real pleasure, Mintridge’s organisational and communication skills are excellent. It has been a brilliant experience from start to finish, the ease with which you can talk with Alex and Katie to arrange our days made life so much easier.
Yvonne Kenton, The Ferrers School, July 2021
1. Take yourself away from a bad environment.
2. Only focus on what is going to make you successful.
3. Never let failure stop you from your future.
4. Trust the process of training and working.
5. I liked that they gave me the confidence that you can be at the top of your sport whilst studying well.
6. It makes me realise that most sports people have been injured some time in their journey and they have got past that obstacle stronger.
7. Recovery and balance is key in order to have a successful sporting journey.
8. Giving yourself a rest can be more beneficial for your overall performance.
9. The athletes worked hard in all of her training sessions for these sports which is what I do in my sports in order to feel as if though I have done everything so that I can to be in the best position possible before a match or a tournament.
10. Follow your heart and what feels best for you.
A Variety of Students, Prior’s Field School, Bronze Virtual Programme, 2021
You don’t have to limit yourself to one thing or one sport. You can still do multiple sports.
I enjoyed listening to Laura Sugar the most because she did multiple sports and I am not sure which sport I want to pursue so it’s nice to know that I have options.
Keep doing what you love and persevering even if you can’t decide what sport to choose.
Don’t limit yourself with one thing
A Variety of Students, Prior’s Field School, Bronze Virtual Programme, 2021
My daughter is doing really well and due to start six form in September, and studying sport and drama. She has begun work at our local “The Cube Disability Centre” and has joined the sports team as a mentor.
Many thanks to Laura (Bassett) and all who supported my daughter three years ago. It certainly changed her outlook on sport and continues to play and encourages others to do so.
Parent, Secondary School, Northamptonshire, July 2018
My son came home enthusing about the kickboxing.
He was born with upper limb arthrogryposis and whilst he has certain upper body limitations, his legs are powerful and this particular sport would be perfect for him. He doesn’t usually request to join after school activities/clubs partially due to his lack of confidence but I feel that this would be a fantastic opportunity for him especially as he has shown such great interest since the school was visited.
Parent, Primary School, Northamptonshire, July 2021
“Marilyn was a true inspiration. We loved her warmth and how well she connected with the children and they were buzzing and still talking about it during the next week. Marilyn's enthusiasm and her ability to relate to the children Despite being an elite athlete, Marilyn's enthusiasm and her ability to relate to the children lives was fantastic. It was truly inspirational. We love working with Mintridge - everyone on the team is professional, enthusiastic and helpful. Thank you for another great Mintridge day!”
Teacher, Bronze Athletics Programme with Marilyn Okoro, June 2021
“We love working with Mintridge, everything is always so well organised and staffed on the day that it is stress free and simply a fun day for everyone involved. The ambassadors offer an experience that children will not forget and the messages they share of a healthy body and mind are so important in shaping our young people to become their best future self.”
Teacher, Bronze Primary School Programme, June 2021
“The Mintridge Foundation has been excellent in providing additional support for our students. They are extremely approachable and always able to provides solutions to issues that students may be experiencing. Students have really valued their experience of working with the Foundation and especially the mentor and they feel they have benefitted considerably from being a part of the mentoring programme. Both students are grateful and feel privileged to have been a part of it…I feel that the programme is very thorough. It would have been nice for the students to meet their mentor in person to consolidate the bonds they have developed, but we completely understand that this wasn't possible due to the pandemic.”
Teacher, Secondary Silver Programme, May 2021
“My mentee has continued to mature since we first started our mentoring sessions, taking more and more ownership and with my help, understanding of his training, physique and nutrition. He set out a goal at the start of our sessions to put on muscle mass and getting stronger in the gym! Which he has already begun to achieve…all in all he has been a pleasure to mentor!”
Nekoda Davis, May 2021
“I have enjoyed listening to your story and life experiences, I feel I have learned a lot from you, and I can relate to your experiences”
“I know so much more about areas I was weak on, such as nutrition and progressive overload with training”
“You have shown me what is capable if you have a goal and you work hard at it, you have really motivated me”
“I feel like I know how to train and fuel better”
“I have loved our sessions; this time has gone really fast. I feel really lucky to have had these sessions with you”
Student, Rushey Mead Academy, May 2021
“Communication, being able to word my problems to someone I can trust. I have also improved being kinder to those around me and I have gained more trust from those around me. I now understand where my strength and weaknesses are and trying to improve them. I understand how to set goals and achieve them. I have improved on my grades and I am clear on what I want to aspire to be when I’m older, I am aspiring to be a singer and a P.E teacher.”
Student, Rushey Mead Academy, May 2021
“I have definitely seen an increase in my students’ confidence. He seems to have more friends and is happy to engage with peers and staff more than prior to engaging in the programme…he has valued the conversations very much.”
Teacher, Secondary Silver Programme, May 2021
“Limitless is proud to partner with the Mintridge Foundation. We support their work with inspirational sporting role models as we look to encourage and inspire the next generation to be active and healthy.”
Louise Allard, Marketing Director, Limitless, May 2021
Both Emma and Dan spoke very well and I think complimented each other nicely with their different personalities.
The feedback from Tuesday has been very positive, both from players and staff. In terms of the content, I think it was very consistent with some of the messages around development that we give to players. Both Stevie and Shona bounced off each other very well, it felt very coherent rather than just two separate presentations.
Both were really relaxed in their interactions with players and staff which helped to make it feel more conversational and less like a ‘presentation’.
Shona and Stevie’s ability to present with such passion was really striking and their key messages were undoubtedly apt for our lads. Some themes that stood out for me were: bouncing back from adversity, understanding and utilising your support network, doing more (1%ers), grasping opportunities, avoiding complacency, blocking out negativity, preparing to perform under pressure and seeing self as a whole (not just an athlete). I think these were exactly the areas we wanted the boys to reflect around so I would certainly say that Stevie and Shone nailed the brief with their presentations!
I found the depth of their answers in the Q&A section particularly impressive and I think this demonstrated their considerable experience of working within high performance environments.
Fulham Football Club Academy, May 2021
Many thanks for the presentations and giving up your time, it was really appreciated by all concerned! I think both groups will have got a lot out of it, particularly on the reflection angle and hopefully they will now go away and reflect upon their sporting, academic and social experiences. It was a great opportunity for them to have an hour dedicated to them thinking and analysing their leadership qualities and emotional intelligence when they are so busy and very few get to do this in their week!
I know it was really valued and definitely worth the experience.
Eboni - You have lots of Team Bath supporters now in North Norfolk!!Mr Adams, Director of Sport, Gresham’s School, May 2021
Gosh she is brilliant! My daughter really enjoyed her time with Evie Toombes and more importantly got a lot out of it.
Parent, Northamptonshire, May 2021
It was really lovely talking to such a positive and resilient person (Evie Toombes), and put me in an amazing mindset.
It's really inspiring to see her be so dedicated to her horse riding, and it's helpful to see that she gives herself a purpose, a thing that she loves doing.
It has really helped me with thinking about my future, as she said so many great things about keeping a positive mindset, which I will all remember and use to my advantage if I ever have a rough time in the future, and now.
She definitely has a new fan... I will be looking out for her in the holidays!!!!
Thank you Evie, because it was an extremely helpful conversation that we had, and she has given me loads of amazing advice.
Student, Northamptonshire, May 2021
An incredible session with Patrick (Foster), it opened up a lot of dialogue with the players which is really positive.
Dan Griffin, Stamford Rugby Club, April 2021
We have really appreciated the support of the Mintridge Foundation in enabling our students to access two high quality engaging presentations from elite performers Shona McCallin and Evie Toombes. The fact that the foundation was still able to provide these experiences during the current climate makes the work even more impressive. The students were extremely interested in the valuable messages that were discussed and they relished the opportunity for question-and-answer sessions, which were handled superbly by both athletes. It was great to see the student's faces when they observed Shona's Gold medal and I know from conversations with students how inspiring both presentations were. We look forward to working with the foundation in the future and thank Shona and Evie, and all at the foundation, for their time and efforts.
Head of PE, Robert Smyth Academy, March 2021
“I really enjoyed Shona's talk, I thought she pitched it just right.”
Parent to Year 9 and 11 girls, Bronze Virtual Programme, March 2021
Shona is a great, realistic role model, my 12 year old daughter took loads from it and we both really enjoyed it.
Parent to Year 7 Student, Bronze Virtual Programme, March 2021
“Thank you for this lunchtime's webinar - I thought Shona was great and pitched it perfectly.”
Vice Principal, Bronze Virtual Programme, March 2021
“Shona came across really well with some awesome messages for our girls”
PE Teacher CLC, Bronze Virtual Programme, March 2021
Shona was fantastic, she came across as warm, approachable and inspirational.
This was evident in the amount of questions we received from our younger girls, they were flying in!
The timings of her presentation and then Q&A were spot on and she was wonderfully professional.
I am obviously completely biased as I have a passion and love for sport (and all things team GB) so I loved hearing about Shona’s Journey. Shona really hit the key points of what we wanted. An insight into her amazing journey with a focus on perseverance and resilience, balancing her studies and high performance sport. We were all really pleased.
Teacher, Bronze Virtual Programme, March 2021
Thank you so much for all of your support in enabling Shona (McCallin) to reach out to our Community yesterday. Shona, Mintridge, Limitless and Cheltenham Ladies’ College will have graced many a Laptop, and we will have a huge number of inspired girls and their families not only across the Cheltenham and Gloucestershire area, but also nationally and internationally.
Director of Sport, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, March 2021
Thank you again for last week, I thought it was great. I have raved about it so much that our Head wants to open it up to the whole school!
Siobhain Fernandes, Director of Sport, Prior’s Field School, March 2021

The communication process has been impressive from the start. Everyone we have communicated with has been very approachable and professional.
Fil Kamps’ presentation was interesting and the key messages were clear and thought provoking. The students were engaged (and timings were well considered). It was good that we could tailor Fil’s story to the key messages that we felt our students needed.
School Sports Coordinator, Imberhorne School, November 2020
Working with these two over the past 3 months has been such a highlight and to hear theirs and their families testimonies of our time together and what we have achieved is just wonderful…two fabulous young ladies who are beautiful on the inside & out, smart, keen to keep learning & become their best selves…sad our time has come to an end but will be keeping an eye out for them both… So glad I could help in some way on their I’m sure very successful and fulfilled journeys.
Pamela Cookey, BAME BALLERS Silver Programme, October 2020
Izzie’s always admired Pamela and has watched many recordings of her during her elite playing days. We’re delighted that the Mintridge Foundation has given Izzie such a great opportunity, not only to meet one of her idols, but also to learn from her. Pamela’s given Izzie great tips about coping with pressure, which help her now with life choices and will also help on the court when she returns to playing high-level netball. Izzie admires how Pamela balances success at the highest level of sport with her working life and manages to have a happy and rounded personal life too. Thank you Pamela and thank you Mintridge Foundation.
Parent, BAME BALLERS Silver Mentoring Programme, October 2020
Pamela has shown me I can continue playing the sport I love to a high level without my education suffering...it's all about balancing my time and staying organised (something I previously struggled with!).
Mentee, BAME BALLERS Silver Mentoring Programme, October 2020
As a family we are grateful for the wonderful opportunity made available to Summer. Summer is very keen on pursuing a sports career and this opportunity has just spurred her on. We had got used to Summer taking part in her mentoring sessions, so we are sad it has come to an end. However, we are thankful to all the people who made this a reality.
Parent, BAME BALLERS Silver Mentoring Programme, October 2020
“I feel grateful I had the opportunity to know her, but also to learn from someone who has achieved what I hope I will be able to do. I feel I managed to absorb lots of advice and knowledge whilst getting to know Pamela as well… I am very grateful as I feel energised and spurred on to continue with my sports.”
Mentee, BAME BALLERS Silver Mentoring Programme, October 2020
I’m sad that we could not have done it with some netball to analyse but really good and we covered so much. She is a fab young lady.
She is smashing through her goals and gaining so much confidence since we first met.
I love this job - thank you guys for organising.
Pamela Cookey, BAME BALLERS Silver Programme, October 2020
Gosh, time has gone so quickly! I can’t believe the mentoring programme is now at an end.
I think it’s definitely helped her with organisation. It’s good that they talk about other things as well as netball. Pam’s definitely instilled upon Izzie the importance of working at things... that’s it’s not ok to just rely on ability.
It’s been an excellent programme. Izzie really likes Pam.
Parent, BAME BALLERS Silver Programme, October 2020
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for our daughter's mentorship programme. For the past 2 months, she and the whole family have looked forward to phone calls from Pamela (Cookey)- these have been great! We are obviously sad that the process has come to an end, but we are really thankful to you, the Mintridge foundation and Pamela for arranging this.
Parent, BAME BALLERS Silver Programme, October 2020
Thank you so much for Friday. I thought the talks were fantastic and engaging for the students - I thought Shona's manner with the students was great and it was great to meet all of you on the day.
It was really appreciated by all staff and students involved.
Head of PE, Robert Smyth Academy, Bowbridge Homes Bronze Programme, October 2020
I am really pleased that you are still doing such good work - it'll be even more important than normal that the children have support in the coming months from your wonderful team.
Janine Urquhart, Mintridge 200 Hub Member, August 2020
Thank you so much for this course, it has helped me in so many ways.
Mentee, Thrapston Cricket Club, August 2020
My daughter has really enjoyed these sessions (with Olivia Rae), it has been good for her to have an outlet at this difficult age and times.
Thank you for the help, support and encouragement you and Olivia have shown for the girls.
My daughter was definitely struggling, with school 8 miles away there was no opportunity to meet even socially distanced from her usual friends. This programme gave her a more positive mindset and renewed her focus to engage with her cricketing family.
Parent, Silver Programme, August 2020
The event went so well and so much positive feedback received form our audiences. Marilyn (Okoro) was an absolute star and such a pleasure to work with. It has been so great working with you and Marilyn and absolutely hope to work together soon in the future.
Kimberley Swaab, Senior Event Producer, News UK, July 2020
Our very sincere thanks to Marilyn (Okoro) for recording our TImes+ event which went out to subscribers last night. The event made such interesting content and I am delighted that we managed to have such a great mix of guest speakers and Marilyn spoke with such confidence. It went down very well with subscribers.
Great to have been able to work with Mintridge on this and we wish Marilyn all the very best for Japan 2021!

The judges praised Alex for overcoming personal challenges and using her experience for the good of others. The organisation that she has founded is already changing lives and has the potential to change sport from school level right through to the international stage.
“Both winners in the Sport category stood out as phenomenal role models and ambassadors for their profession” said the judges.
Air Marshal Sir David Walker, KCVO OBE DL & Mr Richard Mullen , Women of the Future - Sports Award Judges 2017
“On Monday, I was very pleased to attend a meeting that I had organised with the Minister for Sport, Tracey Crouch MP, and one of my constituents, Alex Paske, who is CEO of Mintridge. Mintridge is a fantastic organisation based in Corby, which provides training and mentorship for young people through a programme of professional athletes going into schools and colleges and giving speeches, coaching, guidance and support. It was great to hear about the progress that Mintridge has made since we last met, and I know that the Minister was very impressed with the amazing work that Alex and her ambassadors are doing to increase sporting participation, not to mention foster a better understanding of physical and mental health in young people.”
Tom Pursglove MP, Corby and East Northamptonshire
“Thank you so much Liz! You have helped me so much and you have really given me such valuable advice that is not just going to help me with badminton, but I will also be able to apply in so many different aspects in my life. I really appreciate all the time you have spent talking to me, it was really easy to open up and be honest with you. I found each session really focused and they always addressed things that were linked to my targets. I can already see such huge changes in my mindset and I’m sure that when I can get back on court I’ll see huge improvements too. I will definitely keep you updated on my journey!”
Mentee, Howell’s School Remote Silver Mentoring Programme, July 2020
"To be honest, I don’t really feel like I had to do anything to assist with this really as you and your team were so good at just sorting it out and making it happen! Every time I spoke to the girls they both commented on how lucky they felt to have this opportunity and wanted to make the most of it, Neve especially seeing as though Pamela is one of her idols.
I hope you managed to get some good bit of video and info for the reel you mentioned a while ago as it would be lovely to see our girls feature in any promotion. Thinking back to the day when Pamela came in itself I have to say that I genuinely found her and everyone else so easy to work with and really appreciate the opportunity given by Bowbridge Homes to make this happen; its things like this that kids remember.
I hope that there might be further opportunities in the future for this type of programme again Thank you again so very much!"
Teacher, Manor School, Raunds - Bowbridge Homes Silver Mentoring Programme, June 2020
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for helping to sort the mentoring for me and for all the correspondence, you have been a really big part of me being able to do this! I found it really easy to communicate with you, and you helped clear up any questions I had.
I really appreciate all that Mintridge has done for me, I truly wouldn’t have thought I would ever have the chance to get an amazing experience like this.
Can you please pass on my thanks to Alex. If she didn’t do that talk in the Inspiring Females conference I would not have come across Mintridge, and would not have had the opportunity to do this, it really has made a big impact on my life…It’s been an incredible programme and will definitely benefit so many other people."
Mentee, Howell’s School, Virtual Silver Mentoring Programme, July 2020
"I appreciate all that you and Pamela have done. Before lockdown, the mentoring was having a huge impact on her wellbeing and self-belief. It was a pity that this all happened but Pamela has been fantastic in trying to keep up her morale and motivation. I just wanted you to know how grateful we are to you and Pamela! A time in her life that she will treasure forever."
Parent, Bowbridge Homes Silver Mentoring Programme, Manor School - Raunds, June 2020
“My daughter really enjoyed the session and Pamela was so lovely and helpful. It has been quite tricky to keep a 13-year-old motivated with home schooling and maintaining fitness levels during lockdown and last night was just the boost she needed.”
Parent, Virtual Bronze Netball Programme, June 2020
Thanks Pamela and Alex, a great positive role model.
I had intended to do some marking, but it was so interesting that I was listening in too, hence my cheeky question at the end!
Some great questions... My daughter was busy ticking them off as the others had some similar to her.
It made me chuckle when Pamela was talking about the defenders that give you space and then jump in from nowhere as this is so like my daughter!
Parent, Virtual Bronze Netball Programme, June 2020

I would just like to say a big thank you from everyone at Milton Abbey to both yourself and Shona (McCallin). It was an amazing presentation from Shona and a fantastic story of perseverance leading to success. Shona is an amazing role model and every pupil that I have spoken too since have told me that the really enjoyed it and learnt a lot from it. It as a really important presentation in the current climate to help ensure our pupils stay engaged and excited by sport. So a big thank you from me.

This has just appeared on my Facebook from three years ago:
“To say I am proud is an understatement. My daughter was one of only a few to play in front of Pamela Cookey
today. At the end of the day, she and one other were chosen to be mentored (remotely
for six months) by Pamela. Her school has given her many lovely opportunities, but this has to be the best!”
At the time, I never realised the impact from being chosen for the Skype sessions but it has been huge!
Three years on, and my daughter is still loving netball. Sadly, she has had
nine months off with a broken arm and a mystery illness but she is fighting to
get her fitness back. I will always be so grateful to Mintridge and Pamela for
such an incredible opportunity!
Parent, Silver Programme, March 2020
All the students involved in the launch of the Silver Programme with Asma Elbadawi were
educated on different barriers which they may face and the importance of
resilience to overcome those barriers. The students were really engaged.
This programme has enabled us raise aspirations and develop long term resilience of females
across the Academy, specifically for those from a BAME background who have
limited exposure to women of their ethnic background.
Asma has inspired students with knowledge of the wider world and fuelled their curiosity for
travel and life experience.

Ben has been the perfect mentor for our son. It’s not easy to talk to an 8 year old that won’t sit still, but he
managed to engage with him at just the right level giving him valuable advice and support. A huge thank you.

You’re a very special organisation. The children are still buzzing about the visit with Danielle.
Powerful stuff. Understanding the influence and significance of role-models and then understanding that everyone can be a role-model to others is so important to developing well-rounded, confident future citizens. So proud to work with you guys.
Primary School Headteacher, October 2019
I can’t thank Mintridge enough for such an inspiring day, Eboni was fantastic, the girls were all memorised by her presence! Words cannot explain.
We are only a small club, and this has been such an amazing experience for coaches and players.
Netball Coach, Hotshots Netball Club, September 2019
I had a great experience at wheelchair basketball. I met a man (Jordan Jarrett Bryan) who inspired me to play basketball. I learnt that just because you are disabled does not mean you can’t join sport and be amazing at it. The bit I enjoyed most was trying to shoot in the net.
Yesterday I met Jordan Jarret Bryan and in the hall he taught us how to use wheelchairs and play sport with them. I learnt it was harder than it looked; what I found difficult was picking up the ball on the wheelchair and going fast. I enjoyed all of it and the Q and A with Jordan.
We took part in Wheelchair basketball run by Jordan (an ex player), who is now on Channel 4. We also learned how to move around on a wheelchair. I enjoyed cricket and wheelchair basketball where team 1 would go around 2 chairs and team 2 would have to score baskets and get the other team out.’
‘We were chosen to take part in a wheelchair basketball session run by Jordan (a former player). He is now a Channel 4 sports news presenter. I enjoyed asking questions to Jordan because it was interesting to find out about his career. I also enjoyed playing the games. I learnt that wheelchair basketball is a skilled sport and it takes a lot of training.
‘Me and 14 other year 6 children had an opportunity of a lifetime. Luckily, an ex-English wheelchair basketball star (Jordan Jarett Bryan) came into our school and taught us how to play wheelchair basketball. Getting into a wheelchair was challenging but playing the games were easy. Our team won the cricket crossed with basketball; it was really fun.
During the wheelchair basketball it was difficult to shoot the ball in the hoop. I enjoyed getting to play a different sport as it was really fun. I learnt how to change direction quickly in a wheelchair.
Hopping Hill Students, Gold Programme, July 2019
We loved our day with Jordan, and it was lovely to hear from both staff and children how much they were inspired by his presentation and overall attitude with our school.
I think his presentation was accessible for the children and many of the teachers said how the children listened to every word and were so interested in his journey. I think it just showed them how if you believe in something then anything is possible.
From this we are going to bring more of an awareness of disability, differences to school life and not just for one off occasions.
A huge thanks again to all at the Mintridge Team for another well organised, inspiring and successful day.
PE Coordinator, Hopping Hill Primary School, July 2019
My daughter has been watching England today and it made me think of you and Pamela! My daughter has been selected for the MK Southern Regional under 16’s but hasn’t played since Easter as she broke her arm badly! She did win most improved player at her club presentation on Sunday. Her success is all down to the wonderful opportunity you gave to her (in the Silver Mentoring Programme). You honestly will never know how much it motivated and helped her get to where she is now!
Parent, Silver Mentoring Programme, July 2019
Thank you for making our student and her Dad’s experience so positive. Dad continues to be highly complementary about the programme and the impact that this has had on his daughter.

My daughter has been full of it, showing everyone her signed t shirt and programme and talking about how much she loved her basketball experience.
I will keep you up to date with her progress and any successes she achieves. Thank you so much for your support. It has been a fabulous experience. We look forward to following the progress of others too.

Many thanks for your organising Eboni and Mintridge to assist with our Annual Sports Presentation and BBQ last Friday. They were terrific and feedback from parents and students was extremely positive.
Director of Sport, June 2019 (Squadkit Partner School)
I recently attended your Inspiring Females talk on ‘Your dream career path doesn’t exist -you must create it.’ Firstly, I would like to say that I really loved the talk and what you do as a career. I hope that one day I will be as passionate as you are doing something I love.
In your talk you mentioned how you stopped sports. A year ago, I went through the same thing but with athletics. I started the sport fairly late compared to others, but I was always told how I had a ‘natural gift’ for the sport. Sport is something that runs throughout my family however no one went on to complete a career in sports.
12-year-old me always dreamed of winning a gold in the Olympics and others around me thought I would too. Athletics was my identity. I devoted a lot of time training and competing for 5 years. Until, like you, I went to a major competition in Manchester full of stronger faster athletes and my confidence shrunk to the size of a pea. I felt like I was the wrong piece for the puzzle. After that reality check I started to detest sports and slowly pulled out of the sport.
Fast forward to now I still haven’t gone back to the sport. However, it has opened my eyes to my love of science and engineering along with starting volleyball. I love volleyball but it doesn’t have the same feeling as I get from athletics and it feels like I am learning how to walk again. I went from county champion in one sport to the new bee of another. All these new activities helped to distract me from the little part of me I have lost from athletics.
Secondary School Student, June 2019
Katie was a star from start to finish (at the Girls Summit in Paris). She raised up to every challenge put in front of her with talent and increased confidence.
Katie’s knowledge and eagerness to expand this knowledge are contagious. She very quickly integrated with the other participants, including the ones which couldn’t speak English at all.
Katie represented her organisation very well, with professionalism and creativity. She had no hesitation on participating at the Pitching World Cup exercise, preparing and delivering a pitch for her project (under the pressure of 3 minutes) with all participants, Nike and Women Win representatives watching it. She did amazingly well by guiding us through a different pitch, dream like, story-telling like. We could all see the girls moving from Bollywood to Running. I am so proud of her. if there is one regret is that we should have played Bollywood music during that pitch. Breath taking!
Katie is like a sponge, taking notes, listening to ideas, so willing to learn and evolve and do what is best for the girls she works with. She was a true inspiration for me and for all who had the pleasure to be with her in Paris.
Renata Affonso, Director of Influence, Women Win – June 2019
(Alex Paske), Your speech at Kimbolton was very
inspirational and enjoyable to listen to. Your talk really touched my wife and I and I felt like you were speaking to us.

Thank you so so much for the photos and film of our brilliant morning with Danielle Brown MBE and Mintridge.
We really enjoying having Mintridge and Danielle Brown MBE visit our school. The messages from Danielle were so inspiring, and something we work on everyday with our children. Sometimes it is hard for them to understand why we promote our values and growth mindset because they are so young. Children now want instant feedback and expect to achieve things quickly but we want them to learn that fulfilment comes when we work on things for a long time. Danielle showed them that to achieve great things you need to work very hard, keep trying and keep practising. Her gold medals will make a more permanent impression in the children’s minds. How lucky they were to then have a go at archery with an Olympic gold medallist!
So a massive thank you to everyone who made it happen for the children. And thanks for inspiring us as staff as well, to do our very best all the time. Many thanks again – we would love to do something with Mintridge again – OF COURSE WE WOULD!!
Mrs Davidson, Headteacher - Binley Woods Primary School – May 2019
Monday was fantastic!!!
Grace (Harrison) was absolutely amazing and I bet absolutely shattered at the end too. Her assembly was brilliant and pitched perfectly for all – many staff commented to me about how good it was.
The sessions were great, I didn’t see all the content of all of them but what I did see was fab. Some of our girls were rather timid, however, the last group were in their element. Asking her loads of questions and to do some demonstrations. Grace was a wonderful sport and kept up her enthusiasm with her answers, demonstrations and the many photos.
The team of Jo and Katie were just as fab. Full of smiles and very easy to work with. We are very excited to receive their professional photos and the video that Katie is going to put together. Thank you to both of them for this additional surprise.
A huge thank you to you and all the others for organising/spending the whole day at Prior’s Field. We honestly feel very privileged and the girls (and staff) thoroughly enjoyed their time with Grace, Katie and Jo.
Siobhain Fernandes, Director of Sport, Prior’s Field School April 2019
My daughter had a fab time and Katie (Mintridge Programme Manager) was great and knew how to communicate with her. Marko was brilliant, both on court and with my daughter. A truly memorable experience, I loved it too!
Parent, Gold Mentoring Programme, March 2019
So pleased that Mintridge contacted us to offer the Judo Day with Nekoda Davis. All of our students loved the day and many have asked to do it again and find local Judo clubs they can attend. It was so great to see the confidence of our students grow throughout the sessions.
The inspirational presentations before the activities help student understand what it takes to be a champion. Our school motto is “Be inspired”, and Nekoda certainly had that effect on all of our students.
Mr Peter Sanderson - Senior Assistant Principal, Kingswood Secondary Academy, Greenwood Academies Trust, March 2019
My daughter returned home on Friday after a Mintridge Bronze Programme with Nekoda Davis saying, “I want to devote my time to judo”. My daughter loved the sessions and she would now like to look at taking up Judo. She hasn’t enjoyed other sports as much and would now like to devote her time to judo instead.
Parent, Bronze Judo Programme, March 2019
The Masterclass was a fabulous day. My daughter and her team mates thoroughly enjoyed the day. The skills session in the morning was excellent and I thought very successful given the challenge of having so many girls indoors. The Q&A was very inspiring, and my daughter loved that Eboni played for the same development club that she does! The weather made the matches very tricky, but the girls had a lovely day regardless.
The inspiration obviously paid off as the team had an outstanding day at Nationals on Thursday and become NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! They didn’t lose a single match through the entire day and scored a massive 110 goals at almost a goal a minute.
Thank you again, it clearly had these girls on fire!
Parent, Bronze Netball Programme, March 2019
“Alex spoke at our International Women’s Day event at the beginning of March. She is an engaging and articulate speaker who speaks with confidence and passion about her journey, whilst always ensuring her responses are relevant to the question asked.”
Marie – Louise Reynolds, Saffery Champness (Event Manager), March 2019
We had Alex on our WMN RUN, International Women’s Day panel. She was outstanding! She brought forth her amazing scope of experience from setting up the Mintridge Foundation. She engaged our audience by contributing not just her own story but also drawing on the stories and experiences of the children she works with as well as the athlete mentors involved in her charity. Alex’s style is very personable and authentic. Her passion for enhancing life skills in young people through sport and increasing sports participation for all is infectious. We look forward to working with her again in the near future.
Amelia Ritchie, Women Run (COO, Partnerships, Captain), March 2019
The day was incredible, and we are so thankful for being able to be a part of the Robert Elliott Programme. Some highlights for us were:
The way in which George interacted with the pupils – he was such a down to earth character which made the pupils not only feel at ease, but they also looked up to him.
The organisation of the day – all Mintridge staff members that I encountered had such a passion for the programme and the excitement and ‘Buzz’ about the Foundation was felt by the students who participated.
The aftermath photos and videos – ABSOLUTELTY INCREDIBLE!
PE Teacher, Northampton International Academy, March 2019
Eboni (Usoro – Brown), I just wanted to say how inspiring you were today and not only to the girls, but to the teachers and those that were helping. You have really motivated me to believe in myself and if I work hard at something, I can do it with a positive mindset.
I was fortunate to watch you play at the Copper Box. You were incredible, you have so much POWER and STRENGTH and your ball placement in UNBELIEVABLE.
You constantly motivate the team on and off the court.
Thank you for inspiring me.
Secondary School Student, March 2019
Fantastic, it made us cry. Lovely to see how beautifully and professional everything is done. Robert would have been delighted. Thanks so much to everyone at Mintridge especially Alex and yourself Jo. In my wildest dreams l couldn’t imagine anything quite so perfect for the use of Robert’s legacy.
Ruth Elliott, The Robert Elliott Programme, March 2019
I cannot thank you and your team enough for organising such a terrific day for our academy. The students and staff have not stopped talking about it. It really was such a great experience for us all. I can see that you put such a lot of effort into the day and creating the pictures and media clips. You have really excelled yourself.
Assistant Principal, Purple Oaks Academy, February 2019
(The bronze programme) was very inspirational and relevant and importantly the pupils also had a lot of fun. I thought Danielle was superb with the pupils – even when they said her medals weren’t very gold!
Deputy CEO, Greenwood Academies Trust, February 2019
This has been a wonderful experience for my daughter and she has definitely taken a lot from the mentorship. She has already had positive comments on how she is implementing them.
Parent, Gold Programme, January 2019
“Thank you for helping me in my swimming. I am now much more confident in my strokes and have remembered all of my tips from you. I really enjoyed being able to Skype with you. I was very pleased to be chosen out of everyone at my school to be mentored by you.”
Student, January 2019
“I don’t know where to begin to thank you both for this experience for my daughter. She has not only grown in strength as a swimmer but also as a young person too.
When Lizzie came to school for the day I was so proud that my daughter had been chosen to have a separate lesson with Lizzie with a few other children from the school. Then to learn that she had been chosen as one of the mentees was just amazing. It sounds cheesy but it did bring a little tear to my eye, seeing how excited and pleased she was.
My daughter is usually known for her academic abilities rather than sporting ones. But in this case the mentoring programme has spurred her on incredibly. She has moved up 3 stages in swimming during the period! And watching as her mum I can see how much her technique has improved. Never once has she complained for felt too tired to go to her lessons. Lizzie has been a true inspiration to her and given her invaluable advice to achieve what she has in the pool during this time.
Away from the pool, my daughter’s confidence has rocketed! Her very first skype call, she was soooooo shy, didn’t speak, looked to me before answering a question. By the end of the programme I knew I could just leave her to it and she would chat away quite happily. My daughter has had a few difficulties at home over the last year and at times has struggled a bit, but I truly believe that the mentoring has helped “keep her chin up” during the time as whenever I talk to her about it, or she sees someone to tell them about it all she is absolutely beaming! Getting a birthday card too, well that was her most prized possession!
And for my daughter to have written about her experience with Lizzie and Mintridge in a letter to blue peter and receive a colour sports badge was just the cherry on the top for her!
My daughter felt a bit sad after the end of her last Skype call and we stood and had a little cuddle about it in the kitchen afterwards! So thank you Mintridge and Lizzie. A fantastic experience for my daughter, one she won’t ever forget!”
Parent, Thrapston Primary School, January 2019
“I am really grateful to you and Lizzie (Simmonds). It’s been an amazing opportunity and experience for my son. There have been some interesting topics of conversation between the two of them. You should be very proud of what you have created.”
Parent, Thrapston Primary School, January 2019 , Corby and East Northamptonshire
It was great to see how active the kids got in to it, I was really happy with the programme and I am even more excited to do more in the future. I look forward to planning in some more dates with you soon.
I went along to the first of these sessions at Campion School in Bugbrooke on Tuesday and was amazed that at such a young age, the kids really got the message. It isn’t about being great at a particular sport, it’s about taking that ethos, that you need to practice and persevere to be good at something and applying it to everyday life goals, whatever they may be.
Oliver Purday, Managing Director, Bowbridge Homes (Corporate Partner), January 2019
Our preseason session with Jess was fab! The photos and blog look great too.
Head of Netball, Bishop's Stortford College - January 2019
It was a great session – many students and staff gave unsolicited feedback that they found the session inspiring.
Headteacher, Campion School, Bugbrooke - January 2019
I have just watched the video. This is lovely…Once again thanks to all involved. An excellent inspirational day. One of our parents from our Parent Forum group just commented how her son couldn’t stop talking about it. It made an impact.
Staff Member, Campion School, Bugbrooke - January 2019
Thank you so much for the photos, video and blog and for the fantastic day on Wednesday.
We have never failed to be impressed by our Mintridge days.
Headteacher, Sturton by Stow Primary School - January 2019
Thank you so much for organising such a wonderful pre season day for the girls on Monday. Anna Carter is a really inspirational coach and the senior girls in particular were really impressed with her depth of knowledge and the training session that she led.
Head of Girls' Games, Pocklington School, January 2019
Thanks so much for coming in last week, it was a fabulous day and the kids are still talking about it now! Rebekah was fantastic and all the girls enjoyed having her coach. Both you and Jo were fantastic to have about the place also. We would be more than happy to work with you again. I will send an email to the trust explaining about our day and how good an opportunity it was. The pictures and video and blog are ace and I plan to send out to all staff, promote on Twitter and Facebook and use the photos to make a display in the department.
PE Teacher, Cowley International College - November 2018
As in previous years this has been a massive success. Both sets of parents have been extremely appreciative of the mentoring the children have received and the impact this has had. They have spoken of how excellent Marko was at communicating with the children and the encouragement and challenge this has brought! It was lovely to see the video and goodie bag from our student’s recent trip to see Marko play – we used this last Friday in Assembly to celebrate! We are certainly looking forward to a new programme in the coming months. Thank you again for all you are doing to challenge and inspire our pupils!
Headteacher, Ingham Primary School - November 2018
It was an epic day and the girls have all been “buzzing” according to the feedback we have had today. Thanks so much to you, Jo, and Crista for delivering such an inspirational day, and the photos and videos are fantastic… they have made me smile at the end of an incredibly busy week.
Staff Member, Roedean School - November 2018
My eldest daughter is under a lot of pressure at the moment about her body image; not eat bread with soup, not eat cheese from school friends but she got in the car after the netball session and said “Mum – I want to be strong like Eboni!” I am over the moon.
Mother, Netball Club- November 2018
Can I thank everyone associated with Mintridge for the time and support for my son, especially Marko of course. It’s been so useful to have this and make my son aware of what sport can bring and what is needed to have success, whatever level it is played at. My son is more aware of his potential and areas to work on, it’s certainly so much better to have this coming from Marko than his Dad!! On Sunday, probably had his best game of football and stayed more focused, it was great to see.
Parent, Ingham Primary School - October 2018
Really proud of our fantastic relationship with the Mintridge Foundation – consistently they provide sportsmen and women who come to inspire our children rather than showcase their own talent. Mentoring makes a difference. Thank you Marko Backovic and Alex Paske.
Ingham Primary School, Twitter - October 2018
Our daughter said she’ll miss talking to Marko and she is looking forward to March to meet him again (at the Sheffield Sharks fixture).
Thank you to Marko for the time he has put in. I have been so impressed at how well he talks to our daughter. He pitched it perfectly to the extent that it gave our daughter the confidence to speak to him without my support. She will always carry his valuable advice with her.
Parent, Ingham Primary School-October 2018
My daughter has been selected to train with the North Bucks County Team! She has fought to get on a Pathway to England Training programme having been turned down for another county! I can’t believe how hard she has worked to get there! This success is all down to what you and Pamela do. My daughter was painfully shy and hates speaking on the phone let alone Skype but the Skyping with Pamela really motivated her and gave her the confidence to aim high! I will always be so grateful that Pamela spotted her!
Parent, Akeley Wood School - October 2018
My son benefitted massively from the mentoring programme with Marylin that you at Mintridge facilitated and organised.
Parent, Roger Begy Memorial Trust - October 2018
Wow! My daughter’s confidence has gone through the roof with Lizzie!
Normally she is a bit quiet and looks to me before she answers. Today she had detailed answers to Lizzie’s questions and asked Lizzie questions too.
It was lovely to see.
Parent, Thrapston Primary School - September 2018
Marilyn honestly couldn’t have been more perfect for our Sports Awards Evening, having come from a similar school etc. Parents have been high in praise, along with the staff who attended.
Director of Sport, Princess Helena College - September 2018
A big thank you from the young girls who came down to see Eboni. One of the mums is a voluntary coach for them as most of them can’t afford to join a local club. They only pay £12 for 9 weeks due to the generosity of some of the local community. It meant a lot to them to be able to meet Eboni. I know they were all massively inspired, so thank you again.
Club Secretary, The Netball Club - September 2018
Thank you for such an amazing session. Everyone gave such positive feedback. Eboni by all accounts was fantastic and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We will be in touch again for sure! You guys were great to work with.
Club Secretary, The Netball Club - September 2018
I received some really awesome news today, I qualified for the Laser Run World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa to represent Great Britain. This has got to be one of my biggest achievements! It has always been a dream of mine to fly the GB flag and do my country proud so I’m still in utter shock that I actually am going to!!
I would like to thank school for their ongoing support and introducing me to Mintridge where I have learnt valuable skills and techniques. Thank you Heather and Alex for the opportunity which I believe has helped me get to the World Champs!!
Heather Fell's Silver Mentee, Ampleforth College
We’ve really enjoyed using your services for the last year or so and look forward to arranging something again next year. Our two mentees really enjoyed the Silver Programme and all pupils have benefited from the visits from Laura and Danielle.
Mr Hebborn, Headteacher, Scampton Primary School - July 2018
Thank you, your team, and of course Marilyn for another brilliant day with our students. She is so inspiring and interacts incredibly well with the kids, so it is always a pleasure hosting!
Alice Page, David Ross Education Trust Enrichment Co-ordinator - July 2018
Following our daughter joining her two netball clubs she was invited to Northampton County trials on Sunday. She wasn’t successful this time but has been asked to join the MK Netters Regional team. I shall always be so grateful to you and Pamela!
Parent, Silver Netball Programme - June 2018
What a lovely day you provided, Georgia (Lees) was fantastic with the children, a complete natural and everything was so well organised as usual. I have some lovely comments from the children to show the influence Georgia had today, including a boy asking if there were any netball teams he could join outside school. You are already on my sports action plan for next year.
Jackie Peacock, PE Co-Ordinator, Ingham Primary School, June 2018
Thanks again to you, your team and Marilyn for some incredible visits. The students were so inspired by her and can’t wait to crack on with their training and perform at the Summer Cup.
Alice Page, Sports Enrichment Co-ordinator, David Ross Education Trust - June 2018
The mentoring programme with Stevie Eskinazi and Nekoda Davis has been fantastic for all four of our students involved. They have absolutely loved the sessions and it’s been great to see students that are not necessarily the best performers getting lots of advice to take away into their specialist areas. One student was hesitant at first but has really enjoyed the experience and this has been shown in her improved confidence in setting up an extra-curricular club for her year group.
Head of PE, Manor School - May 2018
NOTHING WORTH ACHIEVING COMES EASY!
It is amazing to see first-hand the challenges that athletes go through which I have witnessed over the last six months. The remote mentoring has really helped my fitness and health.
Nekoda Davis's Silver Mentee, May 2018
We have used Mintridge programmes twice now and I can say both experiences were worth every penny. The children who were mentored have had their lives changed and are going to Key Stage 3 with a new approach to sports and everything else. The assemblies and activities in school were absolutely first rate and both ambassadors (Jordan and Danielle) were truly inspirational! I can’t speak highly enough of all of the ambassadors and staff I have dealt with.
Mr Maddams, St Mary's Primary Academy - May 2018
Following our daughter’s Skype sessions, she has joined two netball clubs!! One is a lovely low key fun one but she wanted to compete more so she has joined MK Netters and is loving matches on a Sunday. None of this would have happened if Pamela hadn’t noticed her potential and given her the confidence to do this .So many thanks!!!!
Parent, Silver Mentoring Programme - April 2018
The last 6 months have been so helpful, thanks to Georgia. I’m so lucky and honoured that a Surrey Storm player mentored me. She is so lovely and has given me such great tips towards my netball.
Thanks to Mintridge that it happened as the training day with Georgia and Halos was so fun! I will miss mine and Georgia’s Skype sessions as they were a lot of fun – we spoke all things netball, fitness, coaching, matches and positions. We also spoke about things outside of netball – which was even more fun as Georgia is such a lovely person to talk to and an amazing netball player. I will look forward to hopefully watching Surrey Storm v Manchester Thunder in April and seeing and catching up with Georgia again.
Student, Halos Junior Netball Club - March 2018
The mentoring programme was a positive and beneficial experience. Marilyn was really helpful and taught me a lot about athletics, sport in general and the lifestyle that goes with it. I’ve learnt a lot which I can take into the future and improve my athletics career and gained valuable knowledge to improve myself as an athlete. Marilyn and Mintridge have been a great help. Thank you!
Marilyn Okoro's Mentee, David Ross Education Trust - February 2018
Thank you so much for Monday, it was an amazing day and exceeded our expectations. I’m still telling everyone I see about it, and so are my two children who are at the school.
The pictures, video and blog are wonderful. There are some beautiful pictures.
Laura is amazing, I think I’m her newest super fan!
School Business Manager, Sturton by Stow Primary School - February 2018
I would just like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for giving our mentee the chance to be mentored by Danielle, it has been completely productive. Our pupil has grown in confidence and self-esteem and is a regular member of many of our school sports teams (including the boys teams).
Randolph Ryan, PE Co-Ordinator, St Paul's with St Michael's School - February 2018
I was a participant in an event at Scampton Church of England Primary School on Tuesday. I arrived early and watched Laura (Sugar) doing her stint. I thought she was brilliant, caught the imagination of the students and was an excellent addition. I was very impressed with her performance.
Robin Dunseath, Adventurer - February 2018
Thanks again for another successful mentoring programme with Mintridge!
Thomas has really enjoyed the opportunity to share his successes and areas for development both on and off the field over the last 6 months.
He quickly established an excellent rapport with Fil, who has been so supportive and encouraging. I was particularly impressed how well Fil picked up their conversation from a previous session. He either has an excellent memory or makes good notes!
I have noticed how confident Thomas has become in answering Fil’s questions and in his readiness to share what he has been working on. Thank you to you and Fil for another successful programme!
Mr Ian Tyas, Headteacher, Ingham Primary School - January 2018
The girls, and staff had a great time on Friday. Please pass on our thanks to Eboni.
Head of Netball, Dumpton School - January 2018
I just wanted to say thanks for organising our Skype sessions with Pamela Cookey. The children had their last one yesterday and they were very sad when it was over. They absolutely loved chatting to Pamela and it has been fantastic for them to meet a role model who is so kind, genuine and down to earth. She really cared about what the children had to say and they thought she was brilliant. Many thanks for giving them this opportunity.
Year 6 Teacher, Windmill Primary School - January 2018
A HUGE thank you for putting together such a wonderful pre season day for us last Monday. The girls loved it and the staff learnt a lot from Georgia. On that note, what an ambassador you have in Georgia – such a warm and engaging lady with endless amounts of energy which managed to inspire us all. Your organisation and flexibility on the day was hugely appreciated.
Head of Girls Games, Pocklington School - January 2018
I think it’s fair to say that we believe this programme is a fantastic opportunity for the children to have regular face to face conversation with someone living their dream. The advice, the laughs, Fil’s football travels, the shared successes and also the confidence boosters and importance of still having fun when things haven’t gone in their favour are all things Oliver will definitely take from this. Although Oliver was reluctant sometimes, Fil has always been very patient and encouraging and has kept the conversation flowing. As they approached their final sessions it was clear Oliver had relaxed into Fil’s company and was more forthcoming with the discussion, particularly when it came to comparing football boots! Thanks so much for giving him the opportunity to participate.
Parent, Silver Mentoring Programme (Primary) January 2018
I just wanted to pass on congratulations from myself and everybody at Windmill Primary for your recent award. It’s great to see you being recognised for what you do and the accolade is thoroughly deserved.
The Principal, Windmill Primary School, Raunds - January 2018
I’ve just seen an article about your Woman of the Year Award… WOW!!! Well done you! I just wanted to say congratulations ????. We hope we see you again this year at Windmill.
Vice Principal, Windmill Primary School, Raunds - January 2018
“Clemmie gained so much out of her Mintridge experience and has taught her family a lot about how much sports can bring to all our lives.”
Parent, Ampleforth College, December 2017
“I am so pleased to hear that Pamela has enjoyed the sessions. The girls have given me feedback about the sessions and they have found them really beneficial and I have truly noticed an increase in Katie’s confidence at school which is amazing.”
Mrs Holly Peedell, Head of Girls PE and Games, Akeley Wood School
“We had a lovely day, one she will remember for the rest of her life.
We both learned a lot from the sessions; information that we’ll use again & again over the years. I feel that Danielle has planted a seed in Felicity that will see her through a life time of growing and learning, and she’ll always have this positive outlook whenever she takes on a challenge.
Danielle had a great way in giving Felicity space, allowing her time to think of the questions and formulate a response. Danielle was great! The last 6 months with Danielle has seen Felicity’s confidence and maturity grow immensly. We have been incredibly fortunate to be selected for this honour. Thank you so much for making it possible.
I wish you best of luck with Mintridge, I think it’s a great thing!!!
In the course of this week Felicity has started to write a book about the things we discussed with Danielle called ‘How To Be Your Best In Sport’.”
One Parent (St. Paul’s with St. Michael’s School), Gold Mentoring Programme with Danielle Brown MBE, October 2017
“We were so impressed with the programme and the organisation of the day, that I have been singing your praises to everyone! Our U13 A team have made it in to the South Regional league this season – all the tactics that Eboni has taught them have proved invaluable!”
Anna Coombes, Wimborne Netball Club
“You have made such a positive impact on my pentathlon journey and I’m so glad you could be part of it with me! The Mintridge mentoring programme was honestly SO useful and it has taught me so much including believing in myself, and when I have started to do that, I have achieved what I wanted to achieve. Yesterday was amazing and my family and I felt extremely honoured to be there to collect a hugely prestigious award which I know meant a lot to you and to meet so many inspirational athletes. The talk was really useful and my mum, sister and I have taken a lot away from that. The whole day was so well organised and I felt so special to be there. I’m so proud and happy I could be a part of Mintridge and I wish you and your family every success in the future!! Receiving the Anna Horrell Award has been a huge achievement for me and has boosted me heading into 2018 which will hopefully be a great year.”
Heather Fell's Mentee, Anna Horrell Award Winner - December 2017
“Pamela, thank you so much for skyping me for the last six months. I have really enjoyed it and it has really given me confidence. I am really grateful for this lovely opportunity.”
Pamela Cookey’s Silver Mentee, Akeley Wood School
“She is a true testament to ‘you get out what you put in’.”
Pamela Cookey, Mintridge Netball Ambassador referring to her Silver Mentee, September 2017
“I’d like to thank you both so much for giving me this opportunity to be mentored for the past 5 months. Pamela has helped me bring out the best in myself; whether that’s on the netball court or being a better sportsman.
The drills and the exercises that Pamela gave me were very specialised to my weaknesses in a game situation and fitness wise, and were adapted to my ability. Amazingly, I have seen improvements whilst playing in competitive matches for my club, as well as keeping my fitness up throughout the summer.
It has been an incredible experience for me to work with Pamela as she is a big inspiration to all netball players out there. Once again, thank you so much for all of your hard work. It’s an experience I will never forget.”
Pamela Cookey’s Silver Mentee, Akeley Wood School, September 2017
“The teachers have said they’ve seen a new confidence in her (mentee) since Pamela’s mentoring which is lovely. Considering she won’t even chat to family on the phone as she is quite shy, it’s amazing that she chats to Pamela and enjoys it so much. I’m really grateful to you and Pamela. We look forward to seeing you at school again.”
Parent, Silver Mentoring Programme
“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you guys for yesterday. Marilyn was an absolute inspiration, as are you. To have built/created what you have done in such a short space of time, with an absolute focus on impacting the future generation…amazing! The buzz around school today is tangible!” September 2017
Matt Coleman, Principal, Windmill Primary School, Raunds - September 2017
“I can’t tell how much the children were buzzing this afternoon after Marylyn’s visit – she was amazing! Thank you so much.”
Michelle Brett, Year 6 Teacher , Windmill Primary School, Raunds - September 2017
“This is a real Sporting Legacy. So glad the #IWD2017 event at the Olympic Park could support the gold mentoring programme to happen. Mintridge is amazing!”
Jade Harris, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Sport, Health and Inclusion Manager
“Eboni was terrific and I know Lucie and Daisy really appreciated her input – and the pre-season sessions were super.”
Mrs Julie Flower, Gresham's School
“Thank you so much for organising this. Kezia was so happy and was very inspired. She learnt a lot about how to get into athletics. She also enjoyed going to the events, she felt very special. Thank you very much Laura, and good luck for the next season.”
Miss Bucknor , Godwin Junior School - September 2017
“The programme has clearly benefitted Saffron hugely personally and in terms of her passion and commitment to various sports. Laura encouraged her to not only pursue athletics, but also to pick up as many other sports as possible, which she has absolutely acted upon. Her participation in extra-curricular activities has increased as she took up athletics, gymnastics and trampolining and rejoined the basketball squad. Her confidence has developed when interacting with other students and members of staff and she has been much more forthcoming when offered opportunities within school.
We’d also like to thank Mintridge hugely for organising the mentoring and each individual session so well- it has been minimal effort from our end with huge rewards and that’s down to you, so thank you again.”
Rachel Kelman, PE Teacher, Clapton Girls Academy - September 2017
“I am really lucky, as not many people get the chance that I’ve had, it wasn’t like ‘teacher talk’ but was more normal like talking with a friend and asking questions. I got lots of good information about sports.”
Laura Sugar’s Gold Mentee, Clapton Girls Academy (International Women's Day Programme 2017)
“Fil was a huge hit with the Junior School and the children were talking about it all day.”
Mrs Rex, Headmistress, Bedford Modern Junior School
“The girls really enjoyed themselves and were talking about it for the next few days, Eboni had a very positive impact! We would love to work with Eboni’s programme again.”
Sammy Kemmish - Netball Coach, Bridgwater and Taunton College
Mintridge brought Jordan Jarrett-Bryan and Jamie Andrew OBE to Witham Hall to inspire and educate our pupils during Enrichment Week, focusing on Understanding Disability. The day was an incredible experience for our children to engage with these truly inspirational role models. Mintridge could not have done more for us; they are a highly professional, organised and friendly company, whom I could not recommend more. We look forward to welcoming them back to Witham Hall very soon.
Jess Tarver, Head of Girls Games, Witham Hall
“I just want to say thank you for noticing me and giving me the confidence to get back into athletics. Having you pick me out of the crowd and giving me this opportunity really gave me the boost I needed and if it wasn’t for you believing I had the talent to succeed I probably wouldn’t be as dedicated to the sport as I am now. Hopefully one day I will be in the position you are in – doing the sport I love as a career, representing my country in competition and looking forward to an upcoming Olympics.”
Marilyn's Mentee on a Silver Mentoring Scheme
“I have been absolutely delighted with the work they (Mintridge) have done with us. They are extremely well organised, provide great communication and have bent over backwards to give us a special day. I have been staggered by the impact that these visits have had on raising the profile of sport within the school, not just for the mentees but for all who met the athletes. We used Sports Premium to fund the visits and it has been really worthwhile – a very clear long lasting impact. I am already in the process of booking again for the summer. I will add that I have not been asked to write this by Mintridge but am just heartily recommending them as an excellent organisation who create fantastic opportunities for the children.”
Mr Ian Tyas, Headmaster, Ingham Primary School
“We had a great day with Will Chudley coaching some of the Year 6 and 8 boys – the boys loved it!”
Marc Gardiner, Head of Boys Games , Millfield Prep School
“The netball masterclass was such a great opportunity for the girls and will help increase both their skills and confidence. Everyone was so excited about Sasha and Eboni coming to BMS and hosting an event like this for our students is not something we have done before. All of the girls had a fantastic time learning from the experts and it really was an inspiration for them!”
Heather Gilbert, Girls Games Co-ordinator, Bedford Modern School
“Mintridge provided inspirational athlete appearances to help us celebrate our Schools achieving the School Games Mark Award. The organisation and professionalism of everyone involved was excellent. We chose two School Games Mark Gold schools to receive an appearance from Laura Sugar: both Rowan Gate Primary and Yardley Hastings were delighted with the impact of Laura’s visit on all pupils and Sports Crews. Laura Sugar was a fantastic role model for our Primary Schools, sharing her personal inspiration of London 2012 to become a member of the GB Athletics team only two years later. I would highly recommend Laura to any schools to engage young people in the power and inspiration of sport and promotion of the School Games values. Mal Loye was a brilliant Ambassador for sport at our Primary School Games Mark Assembly. His passion and enthusiasm for sport really came across, with the added inspiration of his journey from playing at Cogenhoe Cricket Club (in our Partnership) to progressing to play for Northants and England.”
Hannah Hore, School Sport Manager, Wellingborough and East Northants School Sport Partnership
“Thank you for coming in yesterday, you were both brilliant with the kids and they were really inspired by Marilyn – including myself! The feedback I have received from the staff and the students has been great. They really enjoyed it and the day we felt was really successful.”
Kirsty Hill, Sports Enrichment Officer, Humberston Academy (David Ross Education Trust)
“On International Women’s Day, Laura Sugar attended our event at the Copper Box Arena on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The event (set up by Active People, Active Park, Motivate East and Sport and Health programmes at London Legacy Development Corporation) saw a host of elite athletes attend, encouraging and inspiring young females to participate in physical activity and sport. Laura’s commitment at the event was flawless and she participated in almost all the activities on the day. Laura continued to inspire when talking confidently to the press, sharing her experience of International Women’s Day and developing from grassroots to elite sport.”
Alex Zurita, Project Manager, London Sport (Active People, Active Park)
“I am writing on behalf of Stockcross School to thank you, Ben Smith and Scott Meenagh for the most enjoyable activities the children and staff shared with you recently. The photographs were beautiful and a fantastic reminder of the workshops. The children’s questions posed to Scott illustrated how keen they were to understand how prosthetic legs operate. I am sure they will have gained confidence to talk to other people with amputations…..’to smile and applaud’.”
Lynne Barton, Sports Co-ordinator, Stockcross Primary School
“Emily had a fantastic day and was thrilled to meet and be coached by Pamela.”
Parent, Halos Junior Netball Club
“The programme that you are developing with Mintridge is superb and the pupils of a small school like Ingham are privileged to have such inspiring visits from sports stars and Olympians.”
Mr Hutchinson, Chair of Governors, Ingham Primary School
“Thanks so much for the photobook, it’s a great reminder of a wonderful week.”
Tina Pearce, Year 4 Class Teacher, Park Junior School, Kettering
“We were extremely fortunate to be visited by Laura who totally inspired our children! She’s the living embodiment of our school rule ‘Bounce back’ and showed how she, through her determination and resilience, succeeded and achieved her ambitions. We have used Laura’s story to motivate, inspire and raise the aspirations of children at Ruskin Academy and remind everyone we can all achieve our dreams!”
Angela Watts, Principal, Ruskin Academy
“I’m passionate about sport and the power of positive sporting role models to children. We’d been learning about the Olympics last term so it was great for the children to meet someone who competed there! Laura was a great hit and I’m sure will help us as we also work to increase sports participation, enhance life skills and promote a greater knowledge of the body and wellbeing for our pupils.”
Nicky Kingsnorth, Lead for Teacher Development, Ruskin Academy
“Laura Sugar’s visit taught me that I can take challenges head on – even when things seem impossible. I know that if Laura could achieve her dreams I can achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.”
Safiya, Year 4, Ruskin Academy
“Laura was confident and wasn’t scared to tell us about her disability. She’s inspired me to ‘bounce back’ when things go wrong or seem harder than they should be!’
Bailey, Year 6, Ruskin Academy
“Laura inspired me to persevere and become more resilient and to never give up by telling me about how she overcame her disabilities to become a Paralympian in the Rio Olympic Games.”
Micah, Year 6, Ruskin Academy
